Feel free to move this if needed, but I feel that it is hobby related because many providers and hobbyists alike utilize the OnlyFans platform.

You may have read the headlines recently that former Disney star Bella Thorne started her OnlyFans and made $2 million in her first week. You may have also read about the recent controversy surrounding the "nude" photos she sent out to her fans in the form of a $200 Pay-Per-View message, that actually turned out to not be nude at all. I'm all for her making her money because OnlyFans is for everyone and she has as much right to be there as anyone else, regardless of her financial or social status. I feel that as sex workers, we should always want to see each other thrive and be successful.

What I do have a problem with is a "sex worker" deceptively scamming clients out of their money and making promises that they don't intend to deliver. To me, that is the OnlyFans equivalent of a cash and dash in the hobby. Due to the high volume of refunds being requested, OF has now put a cap on how much content creators can charge for a PPV video ($50) and how much can be tipped at one time ($100).

She has mentioned that her intent was to help remove the stigma from sex work and to legitimize it in society, when in reality all she has done is harm the livelihoods of some SWs who depend solely on OnlyFans as their source of income. As a full service sex worker and a top 3% OF creator, I don't need anyone to attempt to normalize what I do, because it is nornal to me. I'm not some marginalized being that needs a celebrity advocate to attempt to legitimize my lifestyle. I am a normal person making a living doing what I love, just like anyone else in this world. If she really wanted to help she could partner up with various organizations such as Sex Workers Outreach Project-USA or Red Umbrella Project.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would love to hear your opinions on this matter, especially if you were directly affected by her wreckless actions.

That's what I was thinking when she signed on. A lot of content creators saw it as taking money away from them, but I figured it could have a positive effect on business because people that may not have otherwise signed up for OF are now on there and may realize they want to subscribe to other ladies.

+1 Vannah. I couldn’t have said it any better. I have a few SW friends outside the hobby who basically said the same thing you just said.

She could’ve used her voice/star power and advocate for all SW’s in a positive light, establish a solid customer base, and make a shit ton of money, but instead she used her social status and took full advantage of her customers.
