Cancellations

I have a question in regards to canceling appointments in this hobby and to see if others have similar experiences to me.

I see a particular provider on a somewhat frequent basis. I have known this provider for a while and have participated in other activities such as dining out etc.
I have a very fun time and have gotten to know her pretty well.

However this individual cancels on me a fair amount, appointments, dining out, often at the last minute without explanation. The occasional cancellation is no big deal but sometimes the provider asks me if I want to participate in an event or an appointment and then cancels when I am halfway there.

I have brought it up a few times to her only to have it met with shrugs and having a bad day.

My question to men and ladies alike is "Is this fairly normal in this business?".
I just want to know if others have similar experiences.

My guess is she's cancelling on you to see other clients. You'll be back, the new client who just called her may never call again if he doesn't see him now. Yes it's pretty common in the hobby. It's up to you to decide if it bothers you enough to stop seeing her, but it sounds like you two get along well enough that you should just roll with it.

Most providers are flaky as shit. A small percentage are decent people. I say name and shame, and drop that one.

I think RafaelH hit the nail on the head. Take it as a strange compliment, if you like her enough to put up with it, and go with the flow.

Enjoy life as much as you want to. In other words, unless it's really putting you out, just enjoy the ride. Sounds like you might be getting some extra benefits, such as time spent with her, that others might not get.
What you say happens can happen in real world relationships and dating. Some people are just like that. It's their lifestyle.

I've had to cancel at last minute due to real world things coming up. Sorry, it can't be helped. If it cost me a future encounter with someone then so be it. I can move on. Goes both ways.

Well that's shitty and I would take a vacation from seeing that individual for a little while and when she asks then I'd explain why again. I've never got why some gentlemen will let these girls get away with stuff like that and then you wonder why these girls have the golden pussy syndrome. Yes you pay us for our time but some girls forget we wouldn't have a lot of the s*** we have if it wasn't for you guys. Then a lot of us would be working dead end minimum wage jobs if we weren't doing this so appreciation needs to be on both sides and if she keeps doing it over and over and over and doesn't show any respect to even act like she cares then obviously she doesn't so why keep entertaining that and putting money in her pocket book

Jcollins sweets most of us don't do that, the ones who strive to keep there good name anyways. It's all about using your big head and not your lil one

Thanks for all the insight and suggestions. Looks like I will take a vacation for a while.
I guess the key is to have as much fun as you can and not take everything too serious.
Mistakes happen, hopefully everything works out in the end.

that is bad on her part. the only way I would cancel is if I had be stuck out of town.. Its not god practice to cancel on clients. I hope you find another provider that can fill in on those times that she cancels on you... Just know that there are other providers out here that are willing to see you...
