By the time a girl 12 or 13 she is menstruating which means her reproduction system is in full swing and she is able to bear children. In just about all fifty states a girl can be legally married at 15 with parental consent. So what's the big dam deal, if a parent feels that his or her child is mature enough and responsible enough to be married at such a young age and gives legal consent who are we to judge. You goofy Liberals advocate Abortion and Gay Marriage like as if that's so moral. Besides if you look back in history girls in the 1800's were getting married at 14,15 and 16 it was common place.

Contrary to popular belief, a lot of young ladies did NOT get married at such a young age "back then".

People need to take this guy with the proverbial grain of salt. He married a girl when she was 16. Louisiana. Figures.

I don't have a 16 year old daughter, so I can't really say. But I did state in my initial post that the Laws in most states permit marriages among 15-16 year olds with parental consent. That's really the key. I would have to consider a number of factors before I would give consent. But even though 15 and 16 is quite young to take on the responsibilities of marriage, Iam sure there would be cases where it would be successful.

Hell I've seen some fifteen year olds that I have more confidence in than I have in their parents. If a 15 year old lives in a state that permits it and their parents think they have what it takes, that's up to them. It doesn't bother me at all.

I guess you didn't really read his remarks, only what someone said about them. He advised the bibilical advise that a young man (read YOUNG MAN) should marry and he should marry a young girl. Phil was 20 years old when he married his 16 year old wife. Only four years different in ages. Legally in more states than Louisiana. What he DID NOT say was for middle aged or old men to grab young girls and marry them. That was something you made up and maybe you violated a rule for falsely making an accusation of child molestation. 16 years old is the age of consent in 28 states. You guys really need to learn some reading comphrehension.
