Private Messaging Discreetness? Thoughts? Poviders and Hobbyist Chime in!

Okay, so I had an unfortunate situation occur that I thought was BS:

Here it goes,

So I PM some fellow hobbyists and inquire about a certain provider's credentials and procedures. I get responses and some helpfulness. Then I get contacted by the provider in question who calls me out on the inquiries that I was asking. Not to mention, she called out the hobbyist who went to mommy.

I was under the impression that private messages are exactly what they are- PRIVATE. I was not impressed by this and I thought it was unprofessional and not discreet, especially from the provider. She stated, "why are you asking questions about me, you should ask me directly - they don't work for me". Well, it seems that they do hun, some ProBono or a discount perhaps? IDK

Conclusion: I declined any further contact and she asks why I'm pissed? and keeps rambling on about how I should not bother clients and that I'm in the wrong.. Wow sounds like the reason I'm here. Long story short pre screening is on both ends!

Please chime in on this situation, I'm a newbie and I'm not familiar with the etiquette. Aren't there some Eccie Regulations regarding PM'S?

No need for he said, she said. You contacted me, you were impatient, you went to a client asking whats up with my screening process. He simply said someone asked him about screening. Its stated on my showcase, that if you have questions, ask me directly. Forgive me for not dropping my dinner last night to reply to your email and process your screening for a "tentative" future appointment that wouldn't even take place for at least two weeks. I replied to you, you had a mini-meltdown, end of story.

I can totally understand why he would ask someone else about the screening process and get impatient about your non response. You look amazingly hot and id be impatient to fuck you too. So you cant blame the guy to be impatient and ask around. he is not bad mouthing you, hes just asking what he needs to do to fuck you ASAP

You missed the point about the appointment not potentially taking place for weeks out, so his impatience is not warranted. He even acknowledged the part about knowing I'm busy planning for another trip...

Okay, just spoke to the mods about this matter and a couple of people will be asked to report to the principal's office. It is truly a violation of ECCIE code, so next time be DISCREET, PM's are PRIVATE. Do not share with hobbyists and providers any information that has been passed on to you. Gwen, regardless of this outcome for you, this will definitely be learning experience for you.

PMs are supposed to be private, but you have to figure anything you write can be leaked. That's just the way it is. In terms of etiquette, I don't see a general breach, but you broke one of her personal rules. So, leaks happen, and read showcases carefully.
