Feature Idea: "Available Today" (Calendar function)

I know there has been at least one thread here recommending a calendar function. It would be great to find a list of women available on a certain day in a particular geographic area. For example, if I'm in Downtown Dallas tomorrow, who all is available there? Women would have to be organized enough to get their schedules on the calendar, but such a tool may encourage more to do so.

What really interests me about this idea is if the functionality could be put in place where a provider logs on, clicks a button that says "Available Today", adds appropriate remarks/instructions (e.g., "Need 2 hours notice", or "please schedule through P411 if I haven't seen you"), and voila...she's added to the list of providers offering services for that day. If she logs off, say to prepare for an appointment, her name could be automatically removed from the list (or maybe she goes from "online" to "busy", like most IM systems allow).

I can't tell you the number of times that by noon I realized I was going to be free 3 or 4 hours later and wanted a date, but didn't know who to call. How great would it be to check the database of women who said they were available today, and try to make a date.

I'm curious as to how many others think this idea has merit.

The calendar would be swamped and you'd have to search thru all the entries just the same as you would the ads. There's a calendar feature like that where girls are just announcing their dates only on another VERY SMALL board and it's packed and hard to read.

Someone may say they're available now, but you'd still have to call and see if it's true. If she gets a call immediately and doesn't take the time to remove her notice, then it really hasn't helped you, has it?

Girls might overuse it also in the way that they'll say they're AVAILABLE NOW when they're really just using it as an extra avenue to advertise. You'd never know if she were doing this....you call...and she says "Oh, I'm sorry, I just got booked up." You still end up doing the searching that you didn't want to have to do in the first place.

Maybe they could have a separate forum for AVAILABLE NOW and have all the ads AUTOMATICALLY DELETE in 3 hours so it's not overly swamped (similar to what as Escorts dot com did). Or better yet, have a new ICON either next to the girl's HANDLE (up top) or under her avatar by the little ONLINE PERSON icon we already see (under reviews) that a girl can CLICK and activate so folks now she's AVAILABLE NOW. What would be cute would be the same little person icon that is already in place for the ONLINE NOW notice...but have the person waving their arms to show the motion of "come on over". Or have it flash RED.

Then you don't have to worry about taking up extra bandwidth with the barrage of AVAILABLE NOW ads and the gent can just read the ads per NORMAL (TinMan...I think you already know which ladies you like to see by now). ;-o Then once the gent clicks on an ad, he can see if her RED LIGHT is flashing.

OR...gents can add their favorite FEMALES to their BUDDYLIST and when he signs on, he'll see the names of the ones he likes flashing in RED which tells him they're "hot to trot" right now!! I think that would be the easiest way for him to notice who's available now or not.

Great ideas, Tia. I do have a buddy list, and it's always a crap shoot whenever I try to contact one to set up a short-notice date. If the available gals' names were flashing red, I would know who to call.

Calendar would be cool for market areas, but seems that managing it would be a pain and mostly abused. When I was in the Seattle areas, many of the provided had me on yahoo IM and I would see current location and availability status. So maybe a modification to the buddy list where a status could be added with location, availability and link to ad, but times-out after 5-10 minutes of inactivity = not available right now. That way it would be manageable and personalized for each person.

I do like Tia's idea, however many of us ladies don't sit on computers all day waiting for the phone to ring.

Several of us ladies have full time jobs with flexible schedules and there are times, that at noon my schedule opens up and I am available to play in a few hrs.

There was another site where gents who needed dates would post and emails went out to those who subscribed to that feature and at that point the parties contacted each other directly...

With all the technology that we have available to us, there has got to be a way to get people together sooner...

I'm surprised no one in management has picked up on this idea. There have been several times in the last several weeks that I could have taken advantage of a feature such as Tia suggests, and I bet there were several women to my liking on the other side of that dilemma.

Neat idea...

As soon as I read this I was thinking that maybe ladies can simply click a calendar date, and add in a specific time they have available. Say, two hours at 1pm, an hour at 7pm maybe? That way its not just "available" all day type of things. The fellas can see who will be available when they will be able to play? Make any sense? Would help to narrow it down.

I am not too keen on the specific location idea, but I see no issue with an area like say "Addison, Plano, downtown"....

I would also think that some limits would need to be in place to avoid abuse...

Should the "calendar" be under the main city's section? That way you are only dealing with ladies that can actually be available?

Not sure if I'm getting the gist of the last two questions, Ze, but I certainly would want to be able to identify the ladies that are available in my area. A calendar specific to DFW, for example, would do nicely...if they were somehow able to specify their general location (uptown, Galleria, etc.), that would be even better.

I love the calendar idea. But I also know some girls will take advantage of it. They will logon and mark "available" on every hour of the day just so their name shows up as available, even when they aren't.
