Impossible Job
Can any President succeed in today's brutal political world?
This country needs a leader, but then he gets so badly mauled by the political process, it makes you wonder why anyone
. . . would even want such a thankless job?

With a pension plan like that plus all of the kickbacks...Who wouldn't want a good job in this horrid economy? You don't even need experience.

Obama loves the job because he's a narcissistic megalomaniac. He's as happy as a pig in slop. Also, he hates America and wants punish the country for slavery and neo-colonialism. Being president gives Obama a unique oportunity to ruin the country, which is what he's doing.

Arduous Life
If a good pension plan was your primary motivation in your work than you could score a better deal being the CEO of a major corporation with less headaches.
The pressure on a President of the United States is so enormous that I think it would soon kill most of us.
It's like playing three dimensional chess on a global scale with grave consequences from one wrong move.
A great country needs a great leader like a great ship needs a great captain to steer it safely through the storms of life, but regardless of whom ever is chosen is certain to be attacked, abused and ridiculed by the opposition.
. . . It makes you wonder why anyone would choose such an arduous path in life.

I think if the American people were truly given a choice instead of the crap fed to us by the 2 parties and the media, we could elect a real leader who would put all Americans ahead of any special interest. I think for the most part, the majority of Americans are pretty much Libertarians at heart-- liberal on social issues and conservative on fiscal matters. In many ways, the presidency maybe too big of a job for one man. Lord knows there is a lot of issues to deal with. Personally, I think Obama has done a shitty job. Probably THE worst president since Carter if not the WORST president EVER. He does not deserve a second term.

It's no longer even close. Obama far exceeds Carter as the worst President ever. Sorry, FastGoon. It's simply a fact.

In my lifetime, I was proudest of my country when Reagan was president. My formative years saw the U.S. being humiliated by the Iranians and then the Soviets. Carter was president then. I also remember the misery index associated with Carter. I can't re-call a time in our history when we were at our weakest than under Carter. Obama is not quite there yet, but he's close. At least with Obama, we don't have the double digit interest rates that Carter foisted upon us. Other than that, Carter, Obama are one in the same.

The best way for a President to succeed is to quit trying to micromanage our lives. That is just too much work. It's too hard to watch what milk we drink, how big our soda is, how many calories we should be allowed to consume, what our children may take for lunch, who gets what healthcare and how will other people pay for it, etc., etc., and etc. ad infinitum
If the President promoted freedom and individual choice, the job would be a snap. And it would be Constitutional.

He always looks like he's having the time of his life. His wife, Michelle, though, she rarely looks happy.
