Default Tax write offs ;-)

Can I write off providers service on my taxes if she cleans my office afterwards? I'm thinking about letting the cleaning lady go...

I would think so if expense is business related? She's cleaning my home office and some ;-)

Well, if politicians can bend us over and rape us in the ass against our will, then I say YES! But you didn't hear that from me. :-)

I assume you're joking, but you'd be surprised at the number of people who are dumb enough to do something like this.

And who might be willing to do you AND clean your office after?

If she's still clocking $200-300/hour for her time while she's cleaning, I think he may get more takers than you think.

I'm sure most providers won't mind taking the trash out and a quick vacuum if it was a weekly gig...

If they come over to clean my office and they want to play afterwards that's on them, I'm paying to have my office cleaned once a week...

Exactly. Payment is for cleaning and extracurricular activities are thrown in. Officially of course.

I'm sure the IRS will understand you paying $200+ an hour for cleaning services. Sure they will.

More importantly than that, never leave a paper trail in the hobby.

C'mon, GG. It's a great idea. People who take the home office deduction are far less likely to get audited than the average taxpayer. It's a perfect set-up. Talk about an economic stimulus!

How the hell would IRS know anything about how much per hour?
I've never filed a form of any kind for my employees that showed per hour income or even how many hours. It's "income" whether for an hour, day, month or by the job (contract labor) It's just when 1 person is paid more than $600 per year I think, unless it's changed. and then you have to supply a ss#, but no details about how long, or how often. I spend $1000's per year on contractors, and over the last 20 years, I've never been audited about that detail, and when I WAS audited, what a paid any particular contractor, never came up. Office cleaning is a legit expense, just like utilities and equipment rental, car expense..

I'm paying $200 a week for 1hr of cleaning that seems reasonable... I can just print some generic receipts if the the MAN ever ask for them...

I have another great idea it's a 10oz silver bullion paper weight for the home office...
