Default Mexico Offers Advice to US Concerning Gun Control

From the "You Can't Make This Shit Up" Department, the government of Mexico is urging the US to review its gun control laws in light of the Colorado shooting.

Really? Mexico is giving us advice on stopping violence? So Felipe, dude, how's that gun control working for you in Tijuana and Juarez? Yeah, thought so.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Here's the counterexample to the Colorado shooting.

Mexico doesn't want their citizens to have guns as they would constantly be in revolution.

Banning conceiled carry weapons only puts law abiding citizens
In danger. Look at Mexico . If private citizens could protect themselves,
The Narco mess wouldn't be as bad as it is. Those folks south of the border
Have it rough. At least here in Texas we can walk around just about everywhere
protected.

If the theater gun man had done this in Texas. There is a very real possibility
that he would have been put down before he did as much damage as he did.

Good thoughts and condolences to everyone affected by this senseless act.

Next, they'll be giving us advice on economic development. If the Aurora shootings had been in Mexico, it wouldn't even make the front page.

Mexico needs machete and axe controls. You know what they say, "machetes don't behead people, people behead people."

The Mexican president better watch out what for what he says publicly. The leaders in Mexico don't take kindly to talk about restricting or taking away their AK's.

I think I saw a little wet spot on the crotch of Napolitano when she was busy shoving that little bit of advice up Calderon's ass

I was on a local radio show this morning and they were talking about new gun laws. This show (Religion on the Line) has three hosts and they were so ignorant of reality. Things like hollow points penetrate body armor, anyone can legally buy a pistol if they have the money, that semiautomatic rifles fire "100" bullets a second, that semiautomatic weapons and fully automatic weapons are the same thing, the Assault Weapons Ban only banned machine guns, and nobody needs more than a couple of guns. These are respected men and they are going to lead the attack on our civil rights. Yes, always refer to gun rights as civil rights as they are and the NRA is the oldest civil rights organization in the country not the NAACP. Watch your backs!

That guy who shot up the theater was wearing so much body armour it's ridiculous, and anyone with only a handgun trying to take him down would have had a difficult time of it.

Best thing is for all of us to just stay home from now on and avoid taking anymore risks. That means no driving around in cars, or on bicycles, or even in buses and trains which might accidently hit someone.

Furthermore whenever I eat something at home or take a shower I should have someone certified by the government accompany me in case I should do it carelessly.

On the other hand the media and public is enjoying the theater of this killing in Aurora so much that life would be pretty damn boring for much of the public without these kinds of things.

Yeah, better to have some massacres once and awhile.

People in Colorado have the same rights to carry concealed handguns as those in Texas. The Texas CHL law has been in affect since 1994 and less than 2% of the eligible population have CHLs. I'm sure an equal number probably carry concealed handguns illegally. The odds of someone in a theatre in Texas carrying a handgun and stopping such carnage would have been extremely low -- the audience in Colorado was mostly kids under 21.

The average person, even here in the state of Texas, does NOT want to carry a gun. Yes, tragedies such as happened at Columbine, Virginia Tech, Fort Hood, and now
Aurora happen. The response from gun advocates is simply to arm everyone. I have not heard anyone come out and say we need more gun laws to stop such events from happening again.
