So I am on the ECCIE chat line, talking with Sexy Ashden casually, when she says I just saw her last night. I know I didnt. Here's the transcript, with her permission...

his reference

AgoodMess: hmmmm - what did the dud look like?

*** Sexy Ashden ***: he was a little over weight with like a grey
tone to his hair and glasses white dude late 40s early 50s

AgoodMess: this is serious - I am going to start a thread reporting this.

more of a threat to the ladies

So... if we are posting reviews, somebody else can claim to be the author and see other ladies. This is not an alert, but you ladies need to be careful about screening - you may not be seeing the real me and missing out on all the BCD fun if you are spending time with an impostor.

Someone was recently registering under other gentlemen's handles, only he would change up one letter. He used those guys reviews to give references...I think he tried it with Hotlips but she caught it because his handle was "Tony Shark" instead of "Tony Stark".

Very scary stuff, but I'm glad Ashden wasn't hurt!!!

I hope she posts his email and phone number in the powder room. Was it you who was talking to her constantly on chat or was he imitating you or has he hacked your account? You might want to change your password.

I've used my reviews as reference, but I've always assumed that the young lady has called to verify 1) that the session occurred and 2) that some sort of description is given to help confirm. Ask Mak -- there's very little wiggle room for someone trying to impersonate me if a reasonable description is provided. The term "ogre" comes to mind (me, not her, d*mmit) I'd even be willing to send a photo (face shot, with a sign saying "Hi <whoever>) to be forwarded to confirm "is this who you saw?"

I've heard of guys calling ladies and saying they're so-and-so. They list references as the ladies the real so-and-so has reviewed. So if the provider calls the references and asks, they give a good reference for so-and-so.

The best way to verify is to ask for a private message. That shows join date, number of posts, and has a link to his reviews.

I'm one of those who got a private message from TonySpark. I could see his join date was 01-01-11, the same day he was pming me, and his number of posts was 0. No reviews.

So clearly he wasn't TonyStark even though his username resembled his.

Perfect example as to why you have the gent PM you directly from his account, then double check the handle and join date and NOT take new client appts via phone, or email.
