Trailer Time/ Film Thead

IIFFOFRDB's music thread inspired me to make one based on movies.

I really envy the folks over in Austin. Not only does it (as well as Texas in general) seem like a mecca for providers, but it also has a number of interesting locations and events devoted to film. Two that interest me in particular are the Alamo Drafthouse, which hosts a number of film revivals with introductions and Q&A's by the filmmakers,

and the SXSW Film Festival, which showcases a number of interesting genre films every year.

Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable derelict apartment building which became a safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. The rundown apartment block has been considered untouchable to even the bravest of police. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite team is tasked with raiding the derelict apartment in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, the building's lights are cut off and all exits are blocked. Stranded on the 6th floor with no way out, the unit must fight their way through the city's worst criminals to survive their mission.

I figured this could be a fairly loose thread. Post about the films you like as well as upcoming films you're interested in. Know of an upcoming film festival or a random bit of film news that you want to tell people about? Post it. Feeling nostalgic? Post some of of you favorite movie trailers from classic movies. This thread might not be a success, but I figured The Sandbox had room for a couple threads that weren't about politics.
