Default Blue Wave petering out!

Yssup said in another thread that more and more Texas districts are turning blue. But a Republican just won a special election in district 19. A district that Hilllary won handily and was held by a Democrat for decades.

That gerrymandered Senate district is not fair indicator of Texas voters. And the special was held to fill a seat left open by a douchebag who got sentenced to jail.

I think you’re cackling in your spare time again, pal.

Ellen, you live in Austin.

Do you talk with people on the street? Don’t you just feel the love for Trump and Cruz everywhere?

Problem with Democrats in Texas is that they don’t vote. I think that will change in November. I don’t like the polls but wouldn’t be surprised if KKKruz pulled it out.

Of course, that all might change when Twitler brings his baggy hypocritical ass down to campaign for the man whom he called “Lyin’ Ted” and pushed the conspiracy theory of his Dad being part of the JFK Assassination.

HHAHAHHhhah!

Yes he probably will. But O'Rourke has done an amazing job. He went from unknown a year ago in most of Texas to making it a rather close race against an incumbent Senator who just 2 years ago was the runner-up to Trump for the Republican candidate for POTUS. I've lived in this state for 26 years and I've never seen the positive groundswell for a Democratic candidate as there currently is for O'Rourke.

The last elected Democratic Senator in Texas was Lloyd Bentson way back in 1992. Usually the Democrat nominee for either Senator or Governor in this state is poorly financed but O'Rourke actually has raised more money than Cruz.

The reason this happened is because the texas governor held a special election in September rather than include it on the November ballot. It probably cost taxpayers an extra few million dollars just so that they could inhibit voter turnout.

The Republican party in Texas is about as dirty as you can get.

Really? How do you think the democrats kept control of Texas for years! They had dead people voting from South Texas and had heavily gerrymandered districts.. Those districts were way more gerrymandered then , then they are now!
