I don't know the answer to that vm. I take no offense to it.
Some here might consider a White or Brown or Yellow history month racist if there was such a thing.

No more than Chinese New Year's or Hispanic Heritage Month. So, no. Not at all.

DG.....I think VM might have been referring to possibly a White History month and if that would be perceived as racist....but that's just a guess.

I don't have a problem with any of it. What's important to me is that when people migrate here and want to stay here....It would be nice if they referred to themselves as Americans. No one is asking them to not identify with their country of origin. This county is made up of people from all over the world. That's what make it a great county. Most come here and blend in...some resist that.

I celebrated black history month by watching Zulu.

I agree w/ the part about just referring to each other by our given names & not racial identity, but culturally I still think Black History Month is viable

I think all cultures should celebrate. I have no problems with it.
It does however....seem to separate people into groups when pushed too far.
Some groups handle it well and some don't and there in lies the problem with it.
I look at ALL people here as Americans first and ethnic backgrounds second.
(the ones here legally that is)

The thing is, whenever a single group is singled out, racist talk can always be inserted somewhere. Even the rules on this site state:

"Singling out a particular race, religion, type of person, etc is not allowed."

Likely the tone of the topic or argument should be the guide, not the exact words.

Vm.....racism exists on this board only because a few insist on bringing it up in one form or another.....specifically to bait people into getting riled up and then they enjoy threatening people for some reason.

This board shouldn't have a color. Most here enjoy seeing ladies of other races and ethnic groups. I know I do.

We don't teach in depth knowledge of history no matter the person or group studied...just a filtered hogwash.

As far as racism on the board...we have ladies that are no AA heck one lady in Austin is a known racist.

Guys and ladies are always going to have a preference of who they want to see and not see. Those are personal preferences and have personal reasons. I don't think that's what the OP is referring to.

Doesn’t sound racist to me.
I celebrate Chinese New Year because it’s part of my heritage, I also celebrate cinco de mayo because it’s an excuse to get drunk.

For me, simply waking up is an excuse to get drunk
