I have the same "plan" as you, and I have "looked" ..... issues to watch:
1. When will the "bonus" kick in for signing up with a new provider?
2. How long will the current rate with the new provider be in effect?
3. Are you getting an "average" billing each month, or actual usage billed?
4. How long has the new provider been around?
5. From where does the new provider get its "energy"?
6. Does the new provider have a rate increase pending with the PUC?
7. How long has it been since the new provider's last rate increase?
8. Which company responds to the outages?
9. What is the initial set up cost for the meter?
10. What kind of meter do they utilize?
11. How often do they read the meter?
You want more? That is why I am still with reliant.
Amoratize your initial expense for the year or so until you get the "bonus" and determine if it makes economic sense?
