Trump vs Ford
Trump won- whoohoo - He is not even the President yet and he is stopping jobs from going out of the country. Does anyone remember another President elect doing this? I sure don't.

You might want to read up on that. Ford's CEO said that they would have made this same decision whether Trump was elected president or not. They were going to open a plant in Mexico for 1.6 billion dollars, but decided to refurbish one here for 700 million.
Now Mike Pence working with Carrier Refrigeration's negotiations about shifting jobs to Mexico is a good thing. They saved 700 jobs there. I fucking hate Mike Pence, but he did good here.

Yes, I saw that but that was after Trump tweeted Ford would be paying a tax if the jobs went to Mexico.
And you are right, anytime we can save American jobs it's a good thing.

And today, Drumpf is threatening GM with a YUGE "Border Tax" if they don't bring the Cruze back to the US.
I like the thought.
However, he can't do that.
Maybe he should read that brochure Mr. Khan offered to lend him...

First, Ford was not going to let any of its employees go even if the production of the Ford SUV was moved to Mexico. The production of the Ford Focus however is moving to Mexico.
Ford kept the production of the SUV in Kentucky because the profit margin on an SUV is high. Profit margin on the Ford Focus is small and Ford couldn't afford to keep production of it in the U.S. And the decision to keep production of the SUV in Kentucky was based on Trump's promise to make the U.S. competitive vs. countries like Mexico. A company can't sell products for less than it costs to make them.

Yeah let's do the math, if Trump saved 700 jobs that's great. They had the stats that showed Ford jobs in America have grown over 28,000 in 5 years under the current President, a 50% increase. He's not really rolling yet.

The jobs are still going to Mexico, they are just not going to be in San Luis Potosi (were the manufacturing plant was going to be opened) but are going to be moved to Hermosillo, Sonora(were a manufacturing plant was opened last year). All production of the Ford Focus will be moved there.
There was no influence by Trump according to the CEO of Ford.

Nobody is discussing that really.

You still upset that he won? Well, hopefully we will never see another Obama or Hillary again - they were unfit to serve. 12 more days to go! Whoohoo!

I'm ready for him to get in office, it's going to be so entertaining for all the people who voted for him. Medicaid is going to be privatized and hurt those voters in Florida. ACA will be repelled but not replaced because no one knows what to do. So coal miners will lose protection against black lung. And those coal jobs he promised won't happen because fracking is what people want and you can't have both. Tax cuts for the rich that is suppose to help the working class, that ain't happening. It's going to be glorious watching those voters lives get worse by their own decisions. I actually can't wait for the Trump presidency.

I agree. I have my popcorn ready. Trump supporters are dumb as a box of rocks. You would have to be a fool if you think Ford or any CEO actually give a shit about what Donald Trump thinks.

And how is he going to add a huge border tax? Trade lawyers will be the only winners for the next 4 years.

I'm hoping against hope that Drumpf learns how things work before he takes office.
