Default A kibbutz?

Has anyone here ever volunteered or lived on a kibbutz in Israel?

Would like to learn more about it. The whole concept has fascinated me for decades.

Thanks,
Elisabeth

Somehow living in a commune with a bunch of JAPS and JPS does not bring a good time to my mind.

No, but I know a couple of people that tried ashrams which I cannot fathom. FWIW, they didn't last their commitment.
