Tarrant County prostitution sting nets 30; will it curb demand in sex trafficking?
There they go again, conflating the p word (can we use it now?) and sex trafficking.

No "aggravated promotion" charges, so I'm guessing it's all prospective clients who were arrested. There's no mention of how the guys were busted, butit wouldn't surprise me if it was a largely street-oriented operation.

“The initiative attempts to curtail the demand aspect of human sex trafficking,” Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn said. “We are, and will continue to pursue predators like this in Tarrant County. We will use all resources available to ensure they are brought to justice.”
Yeah right. Sheriff Billy Bob is gonna curb the demand of the oldest profession. I won't be holding my breath. At least he included all of the current hot topic buzz words.

If LE wanted to bust people just for prostitution, all they have to do is go to any AMP or massage studio and raid them, they know it goes on. But, it appears that their main target is pimps and human trafficking, aka girls forced to do it against their will, not so much the P4P aspect.

You never know, LE really believe they're making a difference in any human trafficking? Seems like they don't know what to do

They will typically do what's easiest, what is cheapest, what will work, and what has a better chance of standing up in court.
How would raiding an amp or massage studio prove that prostitution was occurring?

You are right, the girls that do this type of means for income, more than likely have a criminal record, outstanding warrants, posess drugs, ect. and it does not take much to prove that. Evidence obtained and on record easily stands up in court.
If you have ever been to a AMP studio, you would know prostitution goes on there regularly.

I was thinking a little more along the lines of real life pics and names and a long vacation.

All this activity is illegal whether you agree or not. It is the law. And, it is an election year. Ask Dwayne....
LE markets this through the media for wow factor. Those folks pictured are only just beginning their trial by fire by having it spread all over the media. Media loves it because it is sensational ! Everyone can point fingers.
You know there are sharks in the water. If someone gets bit, so be it. Risk / reward model.

I've been going to amps for a very long time. When they raid them, they don't raid them for prostitution. They raid them for ICE issues more than anything. It would be VERY difficult to come up with the burden of proof of prostitution.
It's MUCH easier to put a UC on Rosedale or Riverside and just grab the guys that solicit.
That way they get their numbers and put out their press releases and validate their existence .

70% of those pictured were minorities. Must be a street sting or amp.

Not really. Those real world names and pics do not have Eccie handles tied to them and I doubt any one that has their pic posted in the news like that is going to admit that one of the guys are him.

Not sure about that.
I know if my pic and name were up there I’d contact administration and have it pulled.
And it wouldn’t matter if a handle were tied to it.
Pretty sure you’d do the same.
