democrat run cities are corrupt

democrat run cities have financial difficulties

democrat run states are corrupt

democrat run states have financial difficulties

its been that way since the turn of the previous century, from boss tweed to mayor daley to mayor nagin of new orleans to the city of bell, california to Detroit, to even duval county, texas

I think it is most likely the nature of those who would be democrats, for they tend to vote to get things, and when they are in power they want to get things.

they seem to look at government as the business they own, substituting guile for hard work, substituting promises to voters for the true worth gained for society by the starting a business, the public treasury becomes theirs for a time

If the Republicans had run those cities and states, more people would have starved and been homeless.

and just exactly how are the people living in Detroit doing?

the only people who did well are those in government, the businesses shut down, the houses boarded, the people at each other's throat

the richest, highest average income area in the country is the washington dc area, the government workers there, and how are the blacks in dc doing?

If Republicans had been running Detroit for the last 30-40 years, it wouldn't have gotten into such trouble in the first place.

You have no idea why Detroit is in such trouble and you really do not care to know the truth and you would deny the truth if told to you. It's that simple.

Here's why Detroit is in such trouble.

http://www.nationalreview.com/articl...n-d-williamson

"Detroit is what Democrats do. The last Republican elected mayor of Detroit took office during the Eisenhower administration. The decay of Detroit is not the inevitable outcome of the decline of the automotive industry: The automotive industry is thriving in the United States — but not in Detroit. It isn’t white flight: The black middle class has left Detroit as fast as it can. The model of Detroit politics is startlingly familiar in its fundamentals, distinguished only by its degree of advancement: Advance the interests of public-sector unions and politically connected business cronies, expand the relative size of the public sector remorselessly — and when opposed, cry “Racism!” When people vote with their feet, cry “Racism!” When the budget just won’t balance, cry “Racism!” Never mind that the current mayor of Detroit is the first non–African American to hold that job since the 1970s, or that, as one Detroit News columnist put it, “black nationalism . . . is now the dominant ideology of the [city] council” — somewhere, there must be a somebody else to blame, preferably: aged, portly, white, male, and Republican. No less a fool than Ed Schultz blamed the straits of this exemplar of Democratic single-party rule on “a lot of Republican policies.” Melissa Harris-Perry, “America’s leading public intellectual,” blames Detroit’s problems on its conservatism and small government, oblivious to the fact that Detroit maintains twice as many city employees per resident as do larger cities such as Fort Worth and Indianapolis, and three times as many as liberal San Jose."

I am on my cell and don't feel like typing out a long response. It is poor city planning that goes back to the early 1900s that laid the groundwork for the fall.
