Snowden Took a Job To Leak NSA Secrets? Cool. Let's Have More Like Him at the DOJ, IRS ...
I like this guy more and more all the time. Spying on the government so he can tell us how the government is spying on us! Beautiful! Here's the story:
Much has been made of Edward Snowden telling the South China Morning Post that he deliberately took a job with Booz Allen to gather up evidence of National Security Agency spying so he could leak it to the world. This makes the international man of government officials' mysteries even more traitorish to the authority-worshippers who already didn't like his revealing widespread surveillance by the U.S. For the rest of us, it means he set out to do a thorough job before giving the state a well-deserved kick in the 'nads. This is a guy who apparently deliberately infiltrated the security apparatus, got hold of its dark secrets, and imposed a little of that "transparency" we'd been promised. We could use a few thousand more like him at the IRS, the Justice Department, the DEA, in the Obamacare bureaucracy, local police forces ...
From the South China Morning Post:
Edward Snowden secured a job with a US government contractor for one reason alone - to obtain evidence of Washington's cyberspying networks, the South China Morning Post can reveal.
For the first time, Snowden has admitted he sought a position at Booz Allen Hamilton so he could collect proof about the US National Security Agency's secret surveillance programmes ahead of planned leaks to the media.
"My position with Booz Allen Hamilton granted me access to lists of machines all over the world the NSA hacked," he told the Post on June 12. "That is why I accepted that position about three months ago."
Treason? Bullshit. More like, awesome.
In the age of Justice Department snooping on the Associated Press and Fox News's James Rosen, wouldn't we benefit from a whisteblower who deliberately took a position to find out just how many journalists the feds are spying on? I'll bet there are just a few more lurking in the files.
How about Internal Revenue Service targeting of political organizations? This is a recurring problem dating back decades. Rather than wait for IRS officials to slip revelations out themselves in hopes of minimizing the impact, an infiltrator or two would be a welcome way to keep a close eye on a long-abusive agency.
And now that the federal government is centralizing control over health care, wouldn't you like to keep a closer eye on how it wields its new power? Especially since we know that it will be sharing patient records without our consent? The government already considers our medical data to be a rich vein it can mine for its own purposes, and it does so with little respect for our privacy. As HeathCareITNews reports:
"The NSA justifies its actions using the war on terror," [Deborah Peel, MD, founder of Patient Privacy Rights] added. "The Department of Health and Human Services claims its actions are justified to lower healthcare costs. These are obviously very different agencies collecting different kinds of very sensitive personal information, but both set up hidden, extremely intrusive surveillance systems that violate privacy rights and destroy trust in government."
We could probably use a few Snowdens there.
Deliberately taking a job in order to spy back at the government? What an excellent idea! More, please.

HA! HA! Authority worshippers! I love that term! We have so many of them here. You know who you are!
And yes, we need more men and women like Edward Snowden throughout government. People who aren't afraid to tell us how the government is screwing us and lying to us.
FREE EDWARD SNOWDEN!!
FREE BRADLEY MANNING!!

apparently you are one of the Traitorlovers and don't have the mental capacity to fathom the scope of letting people hand over classified intel to a foreign country, and the signal it sends to other government employees not to mention our lack of resolve in the eyes of the rest of the world.. Youre just a simpleton anti government anything and everything. As long as someome if fucking the government youre good to go., and ready to pat them on the ass. Snowden is a traitor, I don't care if he handed over the recipe for peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches,as long as its classified intel, the man is a traitor, and deserves the full measure of the law. PERIOD.
seriously, a self proclaimed Patriot such as yourself is ok with China owning our classified intel, ?? CHINA? I look forward to never hearing you mention any of our elected officials are communists ever again because you sir, are a true Chinese communist.

COG, you have now devolved from interesting independent to flakey loner to lunatic.
You do not live in the real world, and your point of view on this topic is exceedingly stupid and dangerous. But you will never see that because you have become a pspsychopath who thinks the rest of the world is filled with nice friendly countries. Go spend some time in the real world. Go to Iran and walk around with apro US t-shirt on for a week.

Snowden should be found, apprehended in any way possible, and drug back hear to meet what ever justice our laws dictate.
This sorry little piece of shit was in trusted with matters that are inseam entail in keeping this Country safe. He violated that trust and stabbed the very Country that afforded his all the freedoms we enjoy in the back.
He is a Fucking criminal. We are a Country of laws. There is a right way to do things, and this is not it.
Yes, I think it is deplorable what our Government does at times. We have a Constitution that is the supreme law of the land, and that is what keeps Government in check.
Administrations come and go. But the basic foundation of our Country is what makes this place different, and better than any other place on the Planet.
The World is an ugly place. it is dangerous. This two bit punk has made it more dangerous for Americans every where.
Drag his sorry ass back here, give him a fair trial, and if guilt is established, throw his punk ass in Leavenworth for about 30 years.

Leaders and their government apparatchiks hate whistleblowers............Snow den is a patriotic whistleblower..........
So far, no one has proven that Snowden revealed anything that damaged American foreign policy interests or endangered Americans by revealing technical data or plans.
China and the world countries already know we spy on them; and vice-versa.
Americans didn't know we were being spied upon by our own NSA; in fact we thought it was illegal. Now we know otherwise, thanks to Snowden.

DizzyBoy, at least COG can hide behind the excuse that he truly is a True-Believer isolationist and borderline anarchist. You have no such excuse. You are motivated strictly by political hatred, with possibly a bit of Good Ol'Boy 1860s nostalgia. If the same thing happened during a Rep administration you would be the first volunteer for the fiering squad. If then Senator Obama said what you just said, exactly as you said it, you would call for him to be tried as a trait. You are nothing but a blowhard hatemonger who vomits anything your RWW handlers tell you to. You have no need to know what was said, just who said it--if any dem is for it, you're against it sight unseen. No one really knows what you stand for, only that you are consumed by your hate for--what actually is it--Dems, less-than-pure-Reps, women who don't sound like a Fox Bimbo, and every US president who has been black.
Your kind of "true conservative" rhetoric gives a bad name to sane conservatives.

Feel free to tell us exactly what Snowden has released that endangers Americans.
What is amazing is after all the lying, deceit and otherwise corruption in the Obama government, you believe anything this administration tells you.
