John Brennan chosen by Barack Obama as new CIA head
An insider on the President's "kill list". A torturer under the Bush administration, promises to "reflect the liberties, the freedoms, and the values that we all hold dear". Yeah. Right. Good by civil liberties. Hello, police state! Welcome John Brennan.
Here's the article:
John Brennan, Mr Obama's counter-terrorism adviser, was nominated as the intelligence agency's next director two months after David Petraeus resigned over an extramarital affair with his biographer.
He has played a key role in expanding a programme of air strikes by unmanned drones on suspected terrorists in Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen, which has killed more than 2,000 people. OP Note: How many were innocent?
Accepting the nomination in a speech at the White House, Mr Brennan, 57, said: "I will make it my mission to ensure the CIA has the tools it needs to keep our country safe."
He paid tribute to CIA successes that would never be known outside the "hallowed halls of Langley and the White House". Many human rights campaigners say that the drone campaign is illegal.
Mr Obama said Mr Brennan would "remain relentless" in pursuing al-Qaeda. [OP Note: Haven't we been told that AQ was on the run, and essentially out of business?
Praising him as a tireless public servant who obsesses about US security, he added: "I'm not sure he has slept in four years". OP Note: I haven't either, knowing who the President is.
White House colleagues have described him as "a priest whose blessing has become indispensable" to the president in their selection of targets for drone strikes from a so-called "kill list".
A career spy who served as CIA station chief in Saudi Arabia, Mr Brennan was also accused of being complicit in the agency's torture of terror suspects under former president George W. Bush.
Controversy over his involvement in the so-called "enhanced interrogation techniques" is believed to have prevented Mr Obama from nominating Mr Brennan to lead the CIA after his 2008 election win.
He promised to ensure the work of the CIA "always reflects the liberties, the freedoms, and the values that we all hold dear". OP Note: Yeah, right. God save us from those who would "protect" us!
This will be a fucking disaster.

I'm not too worried about President Obamas appointments of Hagel for Defense, Brennan for CIA. Hopefully they will be middle of the road and not so much on the extreme......Hopefully!
God Bless America.....Pray for our Troops!

"Hope" is not a plan for the future of this Country, and one must "assume" that .... #1 there is a God and #2 that God really gives a shit one way or another ... for the second "plan" to work.
IMO there are three cabinet positions (or categories) that are NOT "political" appointmets to provide repayment for loyality to the President ...
... defense, state, and "the agency."
But this guy is from Chicago.... so that is standard fare.

The correct would rather have someone who can run those departments with an interest in the welfare of the future of country in a hostile,anti-American world with the background and abilities of someone who can administer a large organization from the perspective and mission of that organization......
.. as opposed to ass-kissing errand-boy-yes-men or women for the President, who knows nothing about any of those missions and responsiblities.

Hagel is probably acceptable, but Brennan would be better at heading up the KGB.

Here is Brennan speaking to a Muslim audience as part of “A Dialogue on Our Nation’s Security” held at NYU. The speech was part of a public forum co-hosted by the White House Office of Public Engagement and the Islamic Center at New York University. As Brennan moves to head the CIA, the video is once again must viewing. Note Brennan avoids the topic of Islamic determinism and Jihad.

But here Brennan defends Islamic Jihad as a legitimate tenet of Islam....
Read this post from Breitbart.......it makes several interesting points and includes interesting videos on Brennan, one in particular when he loses his temper and walks out of an editorial session with the Washington Times. The WT dared to confront Brennan on his "jihad is legitimate" quote......

It's one thing to annoint the head of the U.S. Space Program aka NASA with the task of educating the world's Muslim children on the benefits of space exploration, which was his primary task under Obaminable, but it is quite another to hand over the reins of
defense, state, and the agency to those who attempt to pacify and coddle those who philosophically prefer our demise as "underlings" and "lower" form of beings..... not to mention burn and stomp on our flags.
