You hear that and think what?
I think there is a general pov that a sex addict is one who is always getting off... sex, or porn...
man I have experienced many different forms... and the extreme sex addict....
myself and the ex husband being the most intense I've seen.
Which is the underlying cause for Me to leave. Now, I'm not a jealous woman ... at all... ever. I used to play taxi with him in back picking up street girls, take out from strip clubs... I was a damn good woman! But with all that, came porn.. . And sneaking to look at... masturbation 7-9 times a day, along with 1-2x with me. I watched him literally lose control of the way he would behave.

Then there is me. Finding comfort in Inappropriate sexual situations, "daddy issues" turning a person on , then Im turned on by that!
And last but not least(prob most by amount) amount of times it's possible to msog, which I've done more than 40 times in less than 6 hours!!
O's of every type... I just can't stop some days... to the point of being sore...

Addiction is a strong term....I would label myself as having lack of self control. Yes I porn surf, and then masturbate to a really good vid. I have not gotten to the point of crime or theft, to finance a strong desire to have sex with as many women as possible. So addict, no, self control issues, Yes!

Great point! I despise using the addiction word...but it's very likely for some, and more serious cases.
I don't lack self control... I just feed the beast!

Addiction, no, compulsion or lack of self control, sure. Sex addiction is like saying you're addicted to food or water. If you eat too much you need to back off or you will become obese. Out of control sex can lead to unwanted consequences too.
I think this idea that sex is for procreation only and our human intellect should allow us to overcome natural urges is BS. Sex is required for emotional and physical well being. Saige, I say go and fulfill your desires unless you feel you are hurting yourself or someone else. And goes without saying, play safe.

I think it's biological - much like any "addiction". I knew what girls had, what it was for, and very much wanted to do that thang years before I sprouted my first pube. Had an intense attraction to porn since my first playboy when my age was still a single digit. Happiest at my triple-display workstation curating my 2+ terabyte pr0n collection...I can surf for hours, holding back until I finally paint the ceiling. Been that way pretty much since day one. When I'm stressed I may surf & rub one off a few times a day, so I DO use it in a potentially maladaptive way, but I really don't think I'm hurting anyone with my behavior.

My point is that the term addiction implies a negative impact on yourself and others, and I don't think that's the case here. Do I fuck my SO less as a result of my hobbies? Maybe, but there are other factors in play. My SO knows about my collection & indulges with me at times (finally got that flat screen in the bedroom!). Is the same drive causing me to take up hobbying, a behavior with a number of significant associated risks? Most likely. But as long as I play safe & smart I see no difference in impact on myself & others. And I plan to keep it that way!

Hmmmm. Sex addict? It all depends on your definition of 'Addict'. Do I love sex in all of it's varieties and flavors? Do I love pornography? Do I find myself thinking about sex more and more as time goes on? Do I find that I need it more and more and the more I get it the rougher and kinkier I like it? I guess it all depends on your perspective. To some I may be considered an addict and to others passive in comparison.

I guess if I didn't have any other responsibilities and a ton of cash, I would watch as much porn as I could while having as much sex as I could.

I would say a lack of self control would indicate an addiction of some sort. Addiction is present when you've lost the ability to control it. If you're at a point where daily living revolves around getting sexual gratification then I'd say you're addicted to it. Yes a certain amount of sex is normal and healthy but it shouldn't control your life. The tricky part is at what point is it controlling your life.

How do you know when you watch to much porn? When you enter the bedroom with your wife and ask, "Where's the guy?"

Addiction, like "War on...", is a much overused term, many times poorly used. With experience, I think the best definition of the word would be an inability to curtail a behavior with negative consequences.

I think a lot of people use the term sex addict so they can talk about sex and represent themselves as sexually active on a grand scale. But if there are no negatives, there isn't addiction. Yet. There are members here I wonder about. They post more reviews than I fuck, at least it seems. Some have experienced negatives, some seem to be single with lots of time and a huge pile of cash. One still has to be aware.
