I think it's a great idea.

A lot of people would probably enjoy a "National Sandbox" that wouldn't be crowded out by political threads. But as it stands, all the rancorous posting activity probably turns them off and chases them away.

In my opinion, firewalling off the political discussions would be a nice move.

For the record, there are a lot of posters here who posted in Diamond John's House on ASPD and then the Houston Political Forum. When ASPD, then eraps went under and many people came here, we nearly BEGGED the site owner/mods to create a Political Forum. Yes, practically begged. Response was "it wasn't to happen." Then some political talk momentum happened in the Houston SB but more in the Diamonds and Tuxedos until the D&T mod(s) said take it to the National SB.

Who is this "Quagmire" poster? Never have seen him in the NSB.

I've suggested this before and its gone with no mod response: There was an ASPD rule that posters could only open a political thread once a week. It worked fairly well and kept certain posters from deluging the political forum with trivial threads or threads they are just OCD about. Its also had the side benefit of keeping the thread topic focused.

Al Gore would have won the election if those people in Flordia would have not gotten confused and voted for Pat Buchanan but did not win because of those stupid fuckers!.

Whirly, COG, JD and a few others....this is WTF the real problem is. If we had a rule like this, then the SB would be a fair place to post for all. I hardly ever start a thread but do respond to all the dumbass threads that ya'll start daily. When one poster starts 5 threads all on the same subject, that IMHO is call taking advantage of the forum we are provided.
