FYI....A religious fanatic is featuring providers in the name of God....
Wanted to share a bit of information with all involved in our industry. Apparently, a fanatic preacher, out of Houston, is using his website and the Old Testament to further his career. I was featured on this site and it's a little frightening, to say the least. I don't want to give this guy any free publicity but his website is called "Whores of Babyl-n." To be honest, he's given me some of the best free publicity I've ever had and I'm double sure he will not like that result. I am still visiting with special friends and clients but thought it best to remove my information and pictures from my main website, at least for the time being. I know extremist like this are dangerous and fighting demons within themselves but If anyone has any advice, it will be appreciated. It is probably best to just ignore him but one never knows. I recognized some other ladies on his site and would welcome their thinking about this issue. He also used my picture without my permission. For the added publicity to himself, I’m assuming he does this hoping a provider will legally pursue him in the courts. Be safe and careful, Hailey Sinclair

Yes, we have actually already had this discussion before with several ladies making the "list" of this site, as well as their photographs being used without permission. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done about this. Just try your best to ignore these freaks.

Naturally, this preacher is probably biblically illiterate and has no idea what the term has historically referred to.

Needless to say, it has never referred to prostitutes. The most common usage was during the Protestant Reformation, when it was used as a euphemism for the Roman Catholic Church. Perhaps he should go back to college and retake some history classes or back to seminary (assuming he's ever been in a seminary) and pay more attention this time.

Yeah, he featured me the day before he picked on you. Not much can be done about it, I'm afraid; you just have to remember that cases like this are nearly always caused by reaction formation. He is obsessed with escorts and can't quit looking at our pictures, so he tries to exorcise the thoughts by attacking us as "sinners" and "Jezebels". I was a little shocked when he picked me, but later I was kind of tickled since I had never been called a "Jezebel" before (though my ex-mother-in-law did refer to me as the Whore of Babylon once).

Guilty as charged, I'm afraid! I'm also fascinated by old-fashioned insults like "harlot", "Jezebel" or "hussy".

Yes. They're usually completely unaware of sections they weren't taught and entirely ignorant of the scholarship regarding the mythological and/or historical background of stories;origin of Mosaic and other laws in an historical and religious context; actual meanings of some of the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek words which have been traditionally translated into certain English words; and accepted interpretations of many of the metaphors.

That is some weird ass shit. . .he talks about staying pure, but has pictures of cocksucking all over his website?
My guess is that the book of Isaiah is lost on him:
"Your self-righteousness is like filthy rags to me." (Isa 64:4-9).

Most tend to interpret the Bible literally, as it has been translated into English. They tend to take the position the Bible was written word for word by God, or at least inspired by God, so therefore it is infallible. They use the Bible to do things like determining the age of the earth and support creationist theory...which brings it into direct conflict with science and Darwinism. Some of the things these preachers don't know, and would deny if they did are:
- It is widely held by both Jews and Christians that the Pentateuch was written by Moses. Scholars who have studied it, generally hold that there are about five different authors, none of whom is known. The most glaring reason why it can't be Moses: in the last chapter of the Pentateuch, Moses death and burial is recited. So how could Moses have written that?
- There are actually two creation stories: the first one says that God created man and woman at the same time; the second one says that God fashioned woman from the rib of man to give him company (and to be subservient).
- The book of Isaiah was written by at least two, if not three, authors. Whether one is Isaiah is up to some discussion.
- Some heroines of the Bible are prostitutes: Rahab, to name one.
- These conservative preachers tend to miss the message: the message of the Bible is one of love (agape, not eros [although eros is definitely ok]), compassion, mercy and forgiveness, not one exacting an eye for an eye, or one of hate.
- When King James had the Bible translated into English, it was not an infallible translation. Certain passages were translated as the King wanted.
- What is Biblical is up for grabs: the Catholic Bible has more books than has been adopted by Protestants. Jews study the Torah, Tanakh, and Talmud, which is very different from the Christian scriptures, but has the Pentateuch in common.
Ministers who have studied the holy scriptures in a well-rounded and scholarly seminary tend to understand all the nuances and preach a fairly rational message not filled with fear or hate.
There are seminaries that do not teach a well rounded approach to scripture. They tend to teach denominational doctrine without respecting all available scholarship in learning the Biblical arts. So their ministers tend to come out very judgmental and preaching "fire and brimstone" types of sermons. IMHO, the largest group that does this are Baptists.
Anyway, this is longer than I intended. Sorry.

It never fails to entertain me that the fire and brimstone types single women out to persecute and parade around as sinners. There world is full of sin and sinners. I guess those like this preacher think that women, and more particularly wicked women, are the weakest of all. Oh, if they could only think through the equation and see through to the other side of their obsession. We are, and have been throughout history, the most liberated of women.
