The last real vacation we were on was back in 2019. We went to Sante Fe and had a relaxing week in late February. Driving back to the Houston area in early March, we began to pay attention to the news again. The Covid stuff was just beginning to reach that serious crisis level with mounting deaths and calls for travel bans and lockdowns (I may have the timing off by a week or so). As we drove home, we kept waiting for the stats to even out. They were reporting cases and deaths, but not survival rates on infection rates. It was not clear just how lethal it was or how survivable it was.

Later on, we were only hearing about how hopless it was until a vaccine could be developed, but nothing on if there was an emerging therapy protocol. My recollection is that some folks had their careers ruined over what would or would not work.

now, nearly four years later, I have the same feeling I had when I was in middle school after the Kennedy assassination. All those questions, and then the official and "definitive" Warren Report was issued to settle it all. At that young age (15?) I knew that the whole truth had not come out . . .and soon realized that we would never really know it all.

Now, some 55 years later, I feel the same way about Covid and how it was, and still is, being presented to us. To mask or not, "vaccines" that are not, confine the young though they are not at significant risk and all the controversial rest of it. There is no such thing as "settled science". I learned that in college following a pre-med curriculum, (full disclosure, I am not a doctor).

Four years later, the most significant negative outcome from the national pandemic response is the loss of public trust in the CDC and other supposedly non-political institutions of the nation.

Yes, the number of deaths due to Covid are more prevalent among the vaccinated than the unvaccinated but when you take into account 80% of the population is vaccinated, the death rate among the unvaccinated is still substantially higher than among the vaccinated. Look at the chart in the link I provided. From a second source:

"Indeed, vaccinated people now make up the majority of the population – 79% of adults have completed at least the primary series – and the latest CDC data show that vaccinated people also now represent the majority of COVID-19 deaths. There are many more vaccinated people than there are unvaccinated people, and vaccinated and boosted people are, on average, older and more likely to have underlying health conditions that put them at risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes. Don't tell me, you can pretend all you want that these vaccines pose little threat to the health and well being of their recipients. The process can be either short term or long term. As time goes on more and more people will be plagued by Health problems associated with these vaccines and Government Health Officials know it.
