Oddly enough, I am against this idea in it's entirety. You can't have a bunch of civilians with zero training, that go from being a couch potato to thinking they can take on washington with a small hand gun. Way too many movies for those guys. It's going to be ugly.
I've know about this for awhile, it's just now starting to get national attention and you can bet after they show up and some idiot fires into the air, it'll make news.
I posted this because I wanted to see what this particular community thinks about this. I don't really see it ending any other way. Do you? Kent state comes to mind.
Uh, I don't think that any of the students at Kent State were armed and shooting first at the Ohio National Guard. Why don't you have it remind you of something else...
The nut job behind the march posted that he would not march on Washington DC with a gun unless he intended to use it. In short he intends to show up and start shooting.
If you want facts pick up a copy of Kent State by James Michener. The students out numbered the National Guardsmen who were armed with M-14 rifles loaded with armor piercing ammo. The students were aggressive and threatening (not an excuse you idiot, I'm to tell what happened) with rock throwing and taunting. The young guardsmen were in many cases nearly cut off from retreat. They wore no body armor so stones can damage and/or kill. In the last moments the guardsmen marched into a mass of students (many who were not members of the Kent State student body but traveling trouble makers) when the students surged against them. The officer in charge ordered them to reverse their course and in effect, retreat. I have read nothing that explains what happened next. The guardsmen stopped and someone turned around and fired. This was followed by more firing. Once the firing was done and four students lay dead the guard unit left the field. Was it shame from having to retreat, anger towards the students, or confusion from the noise and someone thought orders were given no one has really proven.
This is what supports Kayla; anytime you bring two groups together and one or more is armed then you have to be very mindful that this could be the result. It does not happen often in the US but has happened many times in other parts of the world.
I have suggested more than once that gun owners and supporters of gun rights march on DC but have always stated that it should be unarmed with strict control on the participants to guard against the radicals, drunks, and agent provocateurs. I have also recommended that all the para-military clothing stay in the RV. I haven't heard about this yet and Kayla did not post a link but it is a bad idea to go armed to DC. That is just playing into the hands of the administration and Justice Department.
This is from the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2009: The self-identified leader of the Ohio Militia, a conspiracy-minded “Patriot” group, released a video earlier this week calling for 1 million heavily armed antigovernment demonstrators to march on Washington, D.C., this coming July 4.
Nope, no bias there is there?
For a change, BSwine backed off his gun owner's march on Washington because he's afraid the government might start some shit.
And the MSM is biased against gun waving militia members (FOUR YEARS AGO!)... ooooohhhhh! Did you view the video, BSwine?
I'm sorry folks, no matter how much you "love" the Constitution, an armed "march" on Washington can only be viewed as an attempted coup d'etat. The people need to rise up against these fucking idiots and let them know that they're out of line.
Once again, Whatzup proves that he has reading comphrehension problems. I never backed off my idea of having a massive march on DC. I pointed out the pitfalls and what I would like to see (no weapons and no paramilitary shit) happen. The Tea Party has set the standard; peaceful, respectful, forceful, and happy. I should clarify for some idiots. Respectful to the country, not neccessarily the president and his gang of thugs. I would also have security to watch for the agitators from the left like SEIU. They seem to like to start trouble.
PS can any of you dems tell me why the DHS has bought 2 BILLION rounds of ammo (staggering number of hollow point and sniper rounds and hollow points are against the Geneva convention, sooooo where exactly is HOMELAND security planning on using enough ammo for a 20 year war) not to mention all the armored assault vehicles. Hmmmm?

If you follow the link and read that guys post you will see some comments from his followers. Everyone is saying that they cannot find anyone who gives a shit about this and no one could find anyone who wanted to go to Washington with them.
