Jackie. There is an Acme oyster house at 110 Veterans blvd in Metairie not far from the airport. Hope you get to have some before you leave.
You know what they say about oysters.

I know it's not oysters but you did mention seafood, so my favorite place is the Pelican Grill. Their claypot shrimp is wonderfully spicy without going overboard, with just a touch of lime keffir or lemon grass I can't remember.

There was a sushi place across canal from the main bourbon street entrance (you know, the one that has the Hustler club?) or at least in that general vicinity by maybe three blocks. I hate oysters but I LOVED their oysters.

Haven't eaten there but the menu looks damn good! Yumm I need to try the place out. I'm a big fan of Red Snapper but season doesn't open till June 1. There's a place in BR called Louisiana Lagniape and it has a dish called fish en Papillote. They usually make it with snapper topped with lump crabmeat, shrimp stuffing & a light garlic beure. They wrap this in parchment paper and bake. It's friggin out of this world.

I know its a little late, but Drago's is the best for char-grilled oysters. Locations in the Hilton downtown and in Metairie.
