The Plantation System did not end after the Civil War. It was simply taken over by the priveledged white liberals.

It came to fruition in the 1960's with the instituting of LBJ's "Great Society" programs. These programs resulted in the decimation of the Black Familly Structure. The Federal Government became the "father", furnishing housing, food, and income.
