Anyone know a good independent shop? Looking for specific stones (Montana Sapphire) to have made into an earrings/necklace/ring set. Jared’s has them, but I’m a little leery about a chain store, would rather deal with a local owner.

Take an afternoon and visit the Clark Bldg downtown- 717 Liberty Ave. 3 Floors of independent jewelers. One who does very good custom work is David Helfer

but the nice thing is you can check out multiple independent retailers, wholesalers, custom designers, repair service, etc all in the same building. So if you like someone's custom work but they don't have the stones you want, they can likely direct you to someone in the building that does have the stones
