Exclamation Obama Leads Romney in Virginia

President Obama leads Romney in the latest Washington Poll 51% to 44%.

Is anybody surprised?

. . .I expect that 7 point lead to widen.

Then you would be the fool who believed that Clinton didn't have sex with Monica and that Teddy Kennedy tried to save Mary Jo. I have a bridge in New York City, are you interested?

Wow those polls change fasts.
In the end the only poll that matters is the one cast by the electoral college.
I predict wide swings in the poll based on the weather, what an actor says, what the guy at the convenience store says. the traffic and so on.

I asked this stripper who she was voting for and she said on American Idol?
I spoke to someone else and they started talking about Dancing with Stars.
I figured they were voting for Obama and marked them down as so.

As opposed to a moron like you who believed in WMDS delivered to the US affixed to SCUDS with their 150 mile MAXIMUM range?

I love your attempt to sully the reputation of the President with a picture from his youth.

Why didn't you find one of Bush (who was older than Obama in that picture) smoking so much dope he had to go AWOL to keep from taking his Texas Air National Guard Flight Physical?

You're a history teacher? You should do your students a favor and try early retirement or euthanasia.

He also liked coke with his booze. And not coca cola either.

Exclamation Indiscretions of Youth

And whom among us does not have indiscretions from our youth?

. . . Let him cast the first ballot.

I believe that what is truly relevant is how one has developed since then and how well he is managing his life and how well he is doing his work now.

However, there are still 6 months before the election and historically, the undecided voters do not decide until somewhere in October so all poll numbers are somewhat soft indicators.

They serve only as data points on a chart that shift like the winds.

The fact is that the Republican party took this country down into the abyss and it was the Democratic party who has been leading us back to the road of prosperity.

. . . To me the choice is clear, but some folks are either blind or are just determined to vote for whatever clown the Republican party puts on the ballot like unthinking robots!

As an economist/statistician, I can point to at least two reasons why this poll is worthless, 1) over 15% of respondents are not even registered voters. 2) this is a poll of registered and not registered voters. A more accurate poll would be of "likely voters" that are already registered.

Also, Washington Post Polls in VA have always been skewed left due to their sampling techniques which give a greater weight to northern Virginia and underweight the Tidewater, Richmond, southern and western parts of the state. Tidewater is heavily military and conservative, Richmond breaks very even, southside and the west break heavily conservative.

Next time, before you cite ANY poll, find out how the sampling is done before you spout it as gospel.

I don’t know about Obama. As far as Bush is concerned, youthful indiscretion is youthful indiscretion. I don’t really see drug use as a teen to be a huge issue. I also don’t see it as an issue for the candidates to beat each over the head. Some will disagree due to the fact that possession of cocaine is a felony. Possession of pot (under an oz or 2) is a misdemeanor. The actual use of either is not a big deal to me. But let me add that use as a teen is no big deal. Some allegations exist that Bush snorted at Camp David (age @ 40) during his father’s presidency. That is a big deal. It’s also a moot point to me. It’s like I’ve said about Obama. There are enough real issues about Bush to discuss without going down the bullshit trail. Here is a link to an interesting story that asks some good questions. There are no answers currently available.

In closing I would like to say that if you have not read “State of Denial” by Bob Woodward, you are missing out on a truly unbelievable story. If you have read “All the President’s Men” you should know Woodward is an excellent author. I read that book after finishing “State”. Woodward was given unprecedented access to Bush’s White House during 2001 to 2003 I believe. He wrote 2 pro-Bush books. Sorting through all the materials he had accumulated, a new story began to appear. As he begin a more focused and thorough investigation into the Iraq war, the doors began to slam in his face. Too late. He already had the words from the players. He mostly had to confirm and chase down the facts. The footnotes are extensive. Every fact you would consider controversial references who said it, what witnesses there were, and the result. The fact that there have been no law suits or denials speaks volumes. They have not openly confirmed many of the allegations but that is to be expected. Whether you believe the book or not, the story is incredible.

You will be very pissed off when you finish it.

Haven't read the Woodward book, but I am not a W fan to begin with. As far as the the other is concerned, unsubstantiated rumors from liberals hardly have much merit. It is like the old question "Have you quit beating your wife?"

I also don't care about Obama's indiscretions, which he has admitted to. However, if a person is going to be fair, and spread rumors about W doing something something Obama has admitted to, in an effort to discredit Bush and/or build up Obama, they need to know Obama was doing the same thing and their criticism falls short.

Bush is not President. He is not running for President. Let's focus on real issues.

In races where an incumbent is defending his office, undecided voters traditionally vote for the challenger at approximately 80%. The presidential race is a coin toss based on recent polls. But when you factor in the advantage Romney has with undecided voters, it puts Romney way ahead. Dick Morris says that if the race was held today, Romney would win in a landslide.

Bob Woodward is a notorious liar. He got caught committing jounalistic fraud in his phony "interview" with former CIA director Bill Casey who was actually comatose at the time Woodward supposedly talked to him.

The only reason Woodward still has a career is that journalism is so corrupt and in the tank for the socialists that Woodward is given cover. Woodward essentially has been given a license to lie because of the credit the left gives him for destroying Nixon. He's sort of an iconic figure to the socialists.
