Default Ultra-Expensive Coffee Beans Extracted From (No Kidding!) SHIT!

Now comes this from the "I think I've seen everything" department:

http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/elephan...ry?id=17489242

It's claimed that the "Black Ivory" coffee beans are "naturally refined" by running them through an elephant's digestive system. Enzymes break down some of the proteins, thus removing much of the bitter taste.

But the stuff ain't cheap! It will set you back about $500 per pound.

Uh, no thanks.

But it does look like it would be nice to relax for a few days at this Anantara resort in the Maldives:

The big punch line from the movie "The Bucket List" was when the Jack Nicholson's character discovered that his favorite coffee had been recovered from shit.

Yep!

Very entertaining movie, by the way.

Kopi Luwak, sometimes called civet coffee, is the stuff that's "processed" by the digestive system of the Asian palm civit, an omnivorous creature that looks something like what you'd get if you could cross a raccoon with a weasel.

Sorry for the interruption. Please return to your regularly scheduled political bickering!

LOL!

Maybe so.

Or maybe the thread would be right at home in the "Diamonds and Tuxedos" forum, given the price of that stuff!
