Default Saying good-bye to my girl

A lot of you old timers know my history of aspd and eccie. I have an empty heart today, and thought I would share it with you. In 2000 when we started B&B, we adopted two little Miniature Cocker Spaniels. The baseball player/fan in me named them after 2 of my favorites. The girl was named Mikki after Mickey Mantle (and Mick Jagger my favorite musician), The boy was Yogi. Many of you may have met them making the rounds with me, running through the spa's, Yogi going crazy with all of the smells/odors emanating from the rooms. We'd zip through the sites at mid-night, top down, Mikki and Yogi in harnesses, top down, fur flowing in the breeze. We'd stop at the 24 hour Starbucks on Westheimer for some caffeine. They always had a little dog treat for them as we zipped through the drive thru. The girls always wanted one of their babies, everyone who met them loved them. Mikki and Yogi even made it through Black Tuesday. Yogi even pooped in front of a vice officer, causing our cleaning lady to tell the guy not to step in it and making a mess for her. Feisty lady!!! Mikki and Yogi, well Mikki, had 7 litters. Their last litter paid for my car, saved me from having to bus it to the hospital. For the last 13 years they have been the one constant in my life. Yogi always running after birds, squirrels, and any scrap he could find. Mikki and my feet enjoying Yogi's joy of life. At night, Mikki would sleep on my lap, Yogi at my feet or butt. I could never have asked for better pets, companions, and/or friends. Those of you who have pets know what I'm talking about. A few months ago Mikki developed a tumor. She also lost her site and hearing. She was still Mikki, Yogi and my girl. As the tumor grew, we continued to take care of her and give her love, but you could tell the time was coming. The time came yesterday when the vet advised me it was time. Last night was hard on Yogi and I. Yogi was a little lost, looking for his partner. He slept in his usual spot, but he was not the excitable boy he usually is. The vet said it would take us a couple of weeks to adjust. She advised waiting a while to decide on getting a replacement. Any ideas out there?
Thank you all for wading through this. If I was in a better mood I'd probably be more coherent.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Blessed are we for our lives have been touched by angels in fur........
Sorry for your loss

Who asked you?

Billy is a long time friend to some of us who go way back in the hobby. I even played softball on a 'hobby' team with Billy, several other guys, and yes.........some of the ladies who were active back then were also on the softball team with us.

Billy, I'm very sorry for your loss.

Outside of that, I hope everything else is going your way.

We lost our family dog on the 4th of July this year. I feel your pain. I think we may have met back in the day. I know I met the other half of B&B. hang in there

I'm sorry to hear! It is difficult to lose a pet.
Your pet was fortunate to have your love and care.
