Don't know, Trekker - I've never heard of "Adult Film School" but I googled it and it looks interesting. Does this come on cable?
Anyway ... the law in Los Angeles is called "Measure B". It was actually opposed by the Republican party in LA County. Since the measure passed, LA county has had a 95% drop in film shooting permits.
Most people say the industry is moving to Las Vegas. Vegas has no condom laws and permits to shoot are cheap. In fact, if you shoot on private property - there is no need for a permit at all. Anywhere you shoot porn in LA county requires a permit that costs hundreds of dollars.
A FEW porn stars supported the measure. MOST - did not. Jenna Jameson supported it ... Nina Hartley didn't. I didn't know this but Hartley says that the actual sex in a scene could amount to 3, 4, or even 5 hours. According to her, women can't stand the friction of a condom for that long and it causes "micro-tears" which actually make the risks of spreading STD's higher.
Aid's Health Foundation SUPPORTED the measure because they were trying to get ahold of the lucrative STD testing. Not sure but I think they did. Prior to the measure, the porn industry had it's own testing service. I hope that people realize that the Aids Health Foundation is simply a gravy train for Michael Weinstein. The AHF is not interested in solving or curing HIV ... they actually have vehemently OPPOSED any funding for research into vaccines. That is a FACT and Michael Weinstein is on the record repeatedly denouncing attempts to find a vaccine.
That's because as long as AIDS remains a problem ... Mike Weinstein has a paycheck. He gets a HUGE paycheck from some states ... like Florida ... where his foundation handles the entire AIDS treatment effort.
And his support for Measure B was simply to expand his empire. I think he was successful.
Here's Weinstein railing against a "once-a-day" pill that cuts the spread of HIV. And remember - this guy is getting OUR tax dollars to fund his efforts to DE-Fund a cure for AIDS.
