Default Your opinion if you will.

What is your personal opinion on land ownership?
Should all citizens have that right?

Default Ummmmmm.....yah

Maybe just a little tough at 1:00AM (eastern) in the middle of the week...but I'll indulge. Land ownership is not meant for everybody and not everybody is cut out for it. But....

What makes you think all citizens don't have the right to land ownership?? I'm not aware of any law prohibiting citizens owning land.

Its a great question if we were living in the early 1900's. But, everyone has the ability to own land if they want it bad enough. It may take some people more time than others, but people can own land.

Of course everyone should be able to own land, if they can afford it and take care of the property.

I don't understand why you were asking this question. Actually, I do. Which on some level is bothersome.

Take care,
Elisabeth

Gotta admit, MA, it's an odd question. A little context might generate the type of discussion you seek.

Default Owning Something

it is an interesting question, whether citizens (or non-citizens for that matter) can own land.

If one owns, truly owns, something, one has complete dominion over that thing.

given environmental, endangered species, eminent domain, zoning, water rights, inheritance, and property tax laws, to name a few, its quite possible that no one owns land but is merely a steward for the master.

try not paying property taxes for a few years and see who "owns" the land.

Isn't it the basic difference of Capitalism vs Communism? Marxism? Et al?

Even socialism to some extent.

All people have the right, but that doesn't mean it should be given to all.
