Newbie Questions

Hey, I’m brand new to this. I’ve dabbled with some video chats and such and would like to love into the real thing/in person. Are there any good beginner guides, things to read to know what to look for/watch out for, etc? I’m in Springfield and would like to find someone that will be ok with helping me through figuring it all out. I’ve seen a few providers are looking for references from last experiences - are there good providers that don’t require that kind of thing or how do you get the experience to be able to verify yourself?
