a "trade" section?
wouldnt it be cool if there was a place on the board where providers could post things they are willing to trade services for?
A lady posted she would trade services for a guitar.....there are things i bet lots of us would be willing to trade for
just an idea..

Interesting concept and not a bad idea. Barter system, just hope that everyone held up their end of the deal!

When I post something to trade, all these guys make fun of me.
So just remember guys you might be laying on a massage table, or the massage lotion being used on you might have came from me. It's some great stuff.
I'm not the cheap shoe guy that works at Kohl's...
So where is the list of items you girls need.
You can PM me.

I actually really like this idea.
I have traded goods and/or services with providers many times in the past. TVs, Laptops, Computer repair, Even photo shoots with a professional photographer friend of mine.
If everyone gets what they want I see it as a win win.
Sure from time to time you may have someone who doesn't hold up their end of the bargain. But lets be honest with the type of arrangement you are likely to only make deals with people you already "know" as there needs to be a cretin amount of trust on both sides.

I really like this idea too!
It just has to be a clear and agreed upon arrangement with no misunderstandings.....
Of course there will be the shitheads that will try to take of advantage of that and get 'something for nothing', but hopefully we could act like reasonable adults and act as such....

Cool idea!
I have traded time for many services and it almost always went very well. For me it has usually been with someone I had already met or knew the reputation of from around the boards. Reputation means a lot to me because I believe you work to earn it and must maintain some respect, honor and consistency to keep it. Most reputable people dont want to lose that which is all they have to stand on in the virtual world.
Have also heard disaster stories so I guess it just depends on the parties involved.

That is certainly kind of you to be so helpful. I respect that piece of you and congratulate you for being the helpful/volunteering type, seriously. There are but a few of us left in this endeavor.
However, please spare us from any more drama re the episode you reference.
Just in case....what or whom can we trade helicopter for?

Actually I think it is in San Antonio forum that has a thread dedicated to "bartering"
Like Ari said above....the success rate depends on the quality of the two parties involved
Overall it seems to be working in San Antionio, but when it does not...one or both of the parties are the usual suspects. And we certainly have our fair share of "the usual suspects"
And then there's helicopter post...no more needs to be said, amazing, simply amazing Or not, lol
