Smile Please do everyone, including yourself, a favor

Start the New Year out with a fresh panel of STD screening.

You can go to any county health department, tell them you don't have insurance, and pay a nominal fee to get tested. Be honest and tell them you have high risk sexual behaviors so they send your ass home with a big bag of free condoms! Get tested for Hep B and C while you're at it since they are high risk diseases that are often associated with sexual behaviors. All of your information has to remain anonymous due to HIPAA so don't be nervous to get tested. You have to personally go into the office to pick up your results.

It just helps to even the playing field if everyone is doing their due diligence to protect each other.

Thank you!

I do blood work twice a year. Why go to a clinic?

It's always best to get checked out when you play frequently. Better safe than sorry!

Some clinics allow you to set up a profile on line to get certain results depending on the test and results. The foot notes always say for HIV results you must return to the clinic for results. I've always been able to call the Jackson county health Dept. to get my results over the phone. I think @ this point if I were told to go in to get my results I'd have heart failure right then and there. I'd have to get someone to drive me to get the results. Stay safe my fellow horny toads.

Of course, insurance will pay for it.

However, first consider these points.

1. Not all carriers consider it as part of a necessary well-check visit so you may pay out-of-pocket for the costs.

2. Not all gents want their SO to read the EOB where it shows they have received STD screening.

3. County health departments are used to clients requesting anonymity. They are cheap. The provide condoms to promote safe sex. They only report data for grant purposes. They don't use it to "out" you.

4. Just because you get blood tests at your doctor's office does not mean they are screening for STDs. They are more likely looking for your cholesterol levels.

Whatever method you use, please get tested.

Well I'm sure when I get my bloodwork done if I had something it would show up in my blood.

As Seductrix said, unless they are testing for STDs, not usually done in general, yearly exams, it won't show up. You have to specifically ask to be tested for STDs.

My doctor knows I my lifestyle and she includes or does the testing as needed. Especially since I work in a profession I am potentially exposed to bodily fluids.

Pro Tip: your out-of-pocket may be less if your doctor orders the tests (instead of you asking for STD testing). Common reasons for your doctor to order testing are:

1) You tell the doctor you have a symptom common to STDs, like burning when urinating or discharge.

2) You tell the doctor that one of your partners informed you they tested positive for an STD.
