For a long time I have been a little confused about the nomenclature and associated abbreviations for multi-partner intimacy.

For example:

What is the difference between a three-way and a double session? I assume there is very little difference.

What about the acronyms FMF versus FFM or MMF?

To quote the old Limerick, "Who would do what, and with which and to whom?"

Three way-all participants recieve the same amount of attention

Being in the swinging world for several years, I'd like to add some clarification to what's already been stated. With one or two more thrown in lol

MFMF - 4sum usually with two couples doing a full swap
MFM - 3sum with Male/Female/Male (generally means the males are str8, female is center of attention)
FMF - 3sum with Female/Male/Female (Usually the females are bi, but not always, male is center of attention)
MMF - 3sum Male/Male/Female (Usually the men are bi when the MM are together and the F on the end. But to clarify, sometimes it's just the way the person typed it and actually meant MFM. So, make sure you ask before going in if you're str8 lol)
FFM - 3sum Female/Female/Male (Women are bi and all three play together and just mix and match as the play develops, really not much different than FMF, again sometimes just the way it was typed)

Doubles - IMHO is just a word that the providers use, but means nothing more than a FMF or FFM. Oh, and they get to charge more too lol.
