Yep, He certainly deserved it. What an awesome start to a great college and professional career.

I can hear Kerrville partying from here.

My only concern is the Heisman trophy is for the best player. I don't agree that a player that has played maybe 10 games in College ball deserves the Heisman. My thoughts is that is for Juniors and Seniors only. I hope Johnny goes on and has a great 4 years. But has he EARNED it!

Of course he has earned it! Look,I bleed burnt orange, but I have been watching this kid all year long and it has been incredible what A&M has done. Not a single person expected this, not even Aggie alum, and its all because of #2! He topped what Cam did and he won the award,he beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa and took Florida and LSU to the wire! You talk about " running the gauntlett",thats a schedule from HELL! The KID is fun to watch, wish the HORNS had him!

Award is for the best player for the current year, not his entire career. He is clearly head and shoulders above the other two candidates.

Next year maybe another story, defenses will adjust to his style. Field of candidates will probably be bigger, which may have affected his selection this year.

Is it true that Mac Brown offered him a scholarship to play Defensive Back? Isn't that the same offer he made to RG3? Hmmmm, haven't the burnt orange been having some issues at QB the last few years?

Makes you wonder about the 'Horns. They get the pick of the litter but missed 3 Heisman Winners not 90 miles away from Austin. Cam (Blinn Jr College), Johnny (Kerrville), and RG III.
How does that happen? They did manage to get Colt's brother...hahaha

Seems the horns have been focused on the brothers. Probably McCoy's dad had Coaches ear. It is time for the Aggies they have been out for a while.

Can't blame Mack for missing out on Cam. He had gotten kicked off of Florida's team for stealing computers from the school. That and Auburn offered him more money.

To me, I think Klein should have won. Take him off the team, and what is KSU? An average team at best. Take off Johnny Football and A&M would still be solid. Teo wasn't even the best linebacker in the country (Jarvis Jones). My only concern with Manziel is that he is ONLY a freshman (not saying he shouldn't of won because of this). I am a huge Georgia fan, and am not looking forward to facing Johnny Football for the next few years. Kid can play.

Johnny Football reminds me of Doug Flutie. He will be amazing to watch over the next few years, but he lacks the height to ever be an NFL super-star. Like Flutie, he will be known for being a great college player and nothing more. Aside from that, I'm damn proud another Texan won the trophy again.
