OBAMA BITCH SLAPPED BY THE NEW UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS...
Immediately following Obama's poorly received acceptance speech, the DoL released the August employment figures....It isn't pretty....Obama has one more month of employment numbers before the election....tick, tick, tick.
+96,000 (135,000 were expected)
FED SET TO PUMP
368,000 DROPPED OUT
88,921,000 'NOT IN LABOR FORCE'
JULY REVISED DOWNWARD

The unemployment rate dropped from 8.3% to 8.1%. Obama will just say, we're headed in the right direction. We're making steady progress, etc. Never mind the fact, that the only reason the rate dropped, is because so many people have given up looking for work and are no longer being counted.
We have a stupid way of measuring unemployment. With the current system, if everyone got laid off, and then gave up looking for work, we'd have full employment.

True Joe; but across America the pain is real. People know it isn't getting better. Obama has not been successful in scaring people regarding Romney/Ryan.....these numbers are a negative for the Obama campaign....try as they might to spin it.

But the liberals keep saying we are doing better. I for one am better off. Interest rates on my credit cards have sky-rocketed, gas keeps going up, my taxes have gone up, my house value has gone done. Well at least if the liberals keep saying we are doing better I may actually begin to believe it. Repeating the same lie over and over until the people finally believe it seems to be a common theme among socialists.

I hope you're right. We're getting pissed on, and Obama keeps telling us it's raining.
We'll see if Obama and the media can fool 51% of the people.

I think people are starting to wonder how with so few jobs being created (180,000 is needed to stay even) how does unemployment go down. CJ is blissfully unaware and doesn't seem concerned. The terrible truth is people are dropping out of the work force. How does this affect the liberal agenda? Fewer tax payers, fewer revenues, fewer revenues the more pressure to tax the rich, the rich start to leave and there goes your tax base again. How are the liberals supposed to pay for all of the freebies they are promising. That's right, tax the middle class where the real money is.
If you are really liberals (and I think some of you are just fakes) then you know we need a broad tax base in order to pay for all of the social programs. That means jobs and that means jobs for the 80,000,000 Americans who are unemployed or underemployed. That means jobs for college grads, jobs for black men, jobs for hispanic men, jobs for blue collar workers that don't work for GM unions.

Im far less concerned about a slight increase than I would be about losing 850,000 jobs a month
If McCain had beat Obie his ass would be in the same situation, and that being the case, after Bush destroyed the country, and McCain couldnt save it in 4 years, a republican president wouldnt see the inside of the Whitehouse for decades ..
and If Willard beats Obie after making all these promises he cant keep, chances are there will be several more dem presidents before the country sees another republican in the oval office ..

You guys hopefully realize that the interesting number of people dropping out of the workforce includes baby boomers retiring and older Americans 60-70 that always have a hard time finding work so opt to retire early right?
Young people don't have the luxury of giving up looking for a job if they want to eat. The number of people on welfare has actually dropped so these people that have stopped looking for jobs aren't all going there. Unless they've found some ingenious way to eat and not work then this is more right wing spin than reality.

The UE numbers are already baked in.
8% is the new "natural" UE rate.
Obama + current congress can't lower it, and can't raise it. We know that now.
The question is if Romney + congress will have any effect (up or down) either.
