An Orwellian America
This article describes how Orwell's and Huxley's prophecies about the US are coming true. In addition to the comment, I also appreciated the way the lie is exposed that there is a difference between the left wing and right wing in politics. There really isn't, as the graphic below describes:
There is either freedom, or control. The further you are along the right wing or left wing, the further you are away from freedom.

I can't agree with part of this. The basis of conservatism is a respect for the rules whether that is law or the Constitution. Some people go beyond conservative principals just like some people go beyond progressivism to socialist and they should not be allowed to claim something that they are not. A conservative will not violate your rights because to do so would run counter to the Constitution. A progressive doesn't believe in the Constitution other than as a way to twist it into restricting individual freedoms for the common good.

Except when it comes to cannabis and prostitution go with libertarian politicians they are the only ones who understand what real freedom is let alone serious issues like privacy and private property.

Perhaps StupidOld LyingFart will finally find the "freedom" he is searching for in Beautiful Downtown Damascus. It's pretty damn obvious he is not finding it in Bitchita!
Yes, my kind and generous offer still stands!

Mission Accomplished! I forced StupidOld LyingFart to deviate from his standard bullshit line, "you got nothin', nothin' at all!"

OH GOODY!!! Let's get over there right next to Anarchy. Gritsboy, you keep trying to make points with things that don't make sense and are unworkable. There's a reason the Wild West went away and, no, it wasn't because of governmental suppression of the good, true, generous and helpful nature of mankind.

A progressive doesn't believe in the Constitution other than as a way to twist it into restricting individual freedoms for the common good. I'll highlight that last little "gem" in the purple it deserves, since it's nothing but hyper-ventillated purple prose.

Our boy, Francis the Talking Corneyhole has, once again, removed any doubt as to his ability to think either critically or logically (or, for that matter, in ANY way). Well, no news is good news, or so they say.

Not an anarchist, but it is preferable to statism. The Libertarian stand is slightly to the right of the left point. Read carefully, or have a grown up explain it to you, RaggedyAndy.

I don't think you know any grownups, gritsboy. You're the kingdaddypimp of posting these half-assed, pointless threads. The statement I made about the Wild West says all you need to know. Now, get your thesaurus and have a go at the big words.

Wait, are you saying that you are against legaliation of marijuana and prostitution? (Which I'm pretty certain libertarians are in favor of on both? CoG please correct me if I'm wrong?)
Also... as long as I get my soma and bitches, I'm cool!

A real conservative (read the contract) does not care who you sleep with or under what terms as long as all participants are willing and adult. As for marijauna (I have no experience with the experience) as long as employers have the right to fire you for being under the influence, or you get busted for endangering people like driving or flying under the influence, and the left is reigned in for putting out false information. I mean don't you think if it is dangerous to suck in tobacco smoke that it is not dangerous to suck in pot smoke?

Yeah that's what I meant - that if someone truly believes in freedom then they should be ok with people smoking pot and prostitution, but yet you see a lot of modern day conservatives against those things.
Also, it's particularly funny to me anytime I find anyone posting on here and not in favor of legalizing prostitution.

Libertarians are not cookie-cutter, but most favor the legalization of drugs and prostitution, and don't mind if same sex couples want to marry each other. Conservatives, on the other hand, have a pretty rigid morality which does not allow for same sex unions, alternative forms of shifting consciousness and pay for play. Modern day conservatives want to control your life as much as liberals do. I had the radio on during lunch today and that idiot Limbaugh was talking about the gay marriage case before the SCOTUS, and related how important freedom is, while condemning same-sex marriage. Really? I remember why I don't listen to him.
