Club Onyx in Houston attempted to reopen as a restaurant with featured entertainers Friday at midnight. It was immediately shut down. A federal judge yesterday is allowing them to open temporarily until it can be determined if they qualify as a restaurant. The club owner is claiming he has a food service license as well as a sexually oriented business license and has decided to open as a restaurant not a strip club. They are enforcing all social distancing and safety regulations. And you have to eat in order to get in. But, there are naked dancer still. It will be interesting to see how this works out over the next few days. If he has a restaurant license and opens as a restaurant, okay. But, does that mean no naked people? That would seem to mean air dances from across 6 feet. No contact with the dancers. I guess you have to lay the money down and they come over and pick it up later. LOL, sounds like the fair in Arlington LOL

interesting.. according to the Abbott order, as long as Onyx has 25% capacity or less, the dancers should be able to be naked, and the club operate as a restaurant. the 6 foot rule is questionable.. it is desired, but I don't know that, say, if customers were routinely sitting 6 feet or more away from the stage, that a Dancer could not briefly interact to receive a tip. I doubt Abbott's order is that detailed.

Looks like he might have been able to temporarily re-open. From the video looks like the stages are roped off but you can still throw money to the stage i suppose. A pretty lame setup IMO. I won't be subscribing to this format of "strip club" if this is what the future will look like.

The Club lost its next ruling on permanent re-opening. They can stay open but there can be no dancers of any kind, even if they are clothed.

That suck, That is like tell a Mexican restaurants, "no band music" to entertain the customers.
Plus, they probably could put up plastic shields by the stage like they do in the gas station and stores. just my opinion. also make Lil slots to slip in the tips or a tip jar like they do at the car wash. Again just my opinion.

No, this is worst than a breastaurant. There are no dancers at all period, clothed or not clothed. At least breastaurants have the scantily clad cute waitresses. As far as I know, Twin Peaks can open but the restaurant can only be at 25% capacity, and the waitresses must wear masks and gloves.

maybe this is the time for throwback? remember Show World Parlors? Dallas had one, New York had a really good one. used to be a chain of them in the US, online porn destroyed the business model, they all shuttered by the mid-90's.. but the dancers would be nude, behind glass, you would slip the money through a hole.. perfect Covid-19 set up. why not lease an abandoned warehouse space, and be first to open? shouldn't take more than a month, you could dominate the commercial sex industry in your town for a good while!
