The difference is that the press back then was honest enough to have actually exposed the scandal. The MSM today is complicit in the cover-ups.

It's amazing the shit Obama gets away with. He's done things in the last four years that make Watergate seem like nothing. With MSM's assistance, Obama can get away with anything.
