lasik
Okay, strange question for a hooker board I know but..
I debating getting lasik procedure done but I'm on the fence as to if I should.
If you have had lasik done what is you opinion.
1. Was it worth it?
2. How close to 100% happy with the results?
3. Age? (I'm 57)
4. Would you do it again?

Skip it at that age, you'll need readers in a few years anyways. There are better options out there, cataract with IOL upgrades.

I will advise the opposite way. I had lasik done on both eyes over twelve years ago at age 47. I am 59 now. I am 100% happy that I had it done. It was life changing for me since I either wore glasses or contact lenses since I was 7 years old. in fact I just went to my eye doctor who performed that procedure just last week and my vision is still 20/15. I would have thought I would need readers by now but I don/t. I would do it all over again. It is scary I will admit that though. My desire to get out of bed every morning without having to put in contacts was my main reason. Like I said, it changed my life for the better.

Best money I every spent. I went to one of the best in the country so I didn't have to do it again. That was in 1997.

Serious near sighted. Lasik made my vision almost perfect. 20 years ago. I am now 63. Use readers. Still pass the driving test. Very good decision.

I had LASIK when I was 63 after a lifetime of wearing glasses. I’m 72 now.
No complaints.

One of my teachers whom I am actually good friends with had it done in the 90's and she has had no complaints. As for me, I am really finicky about my eyes so that is a no go for me. I went in for contacts once and had the hardest time getting them in. Some little kid comes in the room next to me and is in and out in 5 minutes and I'm still there struggling to get one contact in. I'll stick with glasses.

I had the same problem with contacts. Plus I couldn't read with them so I had to have glasses for work.
Just investigate who's in your area. My brother had his done in Vegas 20 years ago. I'm sure there's some people with a great track record in your area. BTW, they'll give you something before the procedure that will take care of the jitters.

I had it done in 1999. No issues at all. It was a miracle. I did not use readers for a long time but I do now.
I highly recommend if you have astigmatism and contacts are not an option. My contacts always kept flipping out of my eye due to astigmatism. One of the best investments I ever made.

Have it done by a board certified ophthalmologist, who is an M.D., not a "Doctor of Optometry" (which varies from state too state and city to city). More $$$ but much better outcomes.

The idea of someone cutting on my eyes is too scary to me.
The last time at the DMV I had to take an eye test. The DMV Im at had the old eye tests. With boys eyes I could see it good enough to read, but with one eye I struggled.
As I approach the counter we delbt with the paperwork and whil she is reviews the paperwork I start formulating a strategy for the eye test.
She asks, "what is the first line?". "E!", I replied.
"What is the last line you can read?" Me: Copywrite 1967 by someone named Pat Pending."
DMV employee: "Ahhhhhhhhh, ok, I will give that one to you!"
