It doesn't really matter who hosted the interview. The interview says it all. The senator refuses to say what the middle class is. Middle class IS an economic number. Those earning between x and y. Simple. To say a teacher that taught for ten years and then took off a year and only made $4,000 may have middle class values, middle class trappings, but unless she gets to earning back to the middle class levels, she isn't middle class. It's intellectual, politico double speak. Why would refuse to name a defining number? The answer is because it boxes her in to something as firm as math. Heaven forbid.
