Default Waco Kid's Weekly College Football Review week5

What is Waco Kid's Weekly College Football Review? It is an ongoing weekly review of all things College Football!!

Each week upcoming games can be discussed and predictions made, name-calling after victories and general all-around college football discussion! Each week will be closed out by the next Monday and a new thread opened for the current college football schedule for each week.

Rules -
"Rules?? We don't need no stinkin’ rules!"
Actually we do.

WKWCFR rule 1
"Lies, damn lies and statistics!"
British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli
If you quote a stat, record, 3rd down conversion rate, an all-time mark or the number of jock straps an 85-man team needs ...
Post it! If you can't post a link to it, it's bogus!
What's valid in the Internet age? Just about anything! Any of the major sports publications, local newspapers, any of the big networks and official school and NCAA sites just to cover the big ones.

WKWCFR rule 2
Predictions must be posted 1 day in advance! If you haven't read the sports page and figgured out who's going to win by the day before ya never will!
Must be time stamped before Midnight the day before game-day, for any weekly games Thur-Sun on the current weekly schedule.
So there you have it, pretty basic! You can post on general topics of your favorite teams regardless of that week's opponent. Just remember WKWCFR rule 1

Texas A&M (3-0, Conf: 0-0) 7:30pm Oklahoma St. (3-0, Conf: 0-0) ET - winner Oklahoma St.

You cowpokes have offense, in T. Boone's house you need to beat A&M. Git er Done!
A&M also has offense, they're not the WC of old yet but maybe Sherman is making progress.

No. 8 Oklahoma vs. No. 21 Texas at Dallas, 3:30 p.m. winner Oklahoma

Why? Why not? this series is about streaks and OU is due. Probably would give OU luck of the draw even if UT had won against UCLA. Only if UT had won looking sharp would i take 'em to make it 4 straight.

As usual talent is a draw, any motivation UT may gain from a loss is over about 5 minutes into the game then it's who plays better. OU gets the luck and a W this time. Alas all good streaks end. just to edgimcate y'all the record is 8 straight. By Texas, twice.

Darrell Royal 1958-65.

Dana X. Bible 1940-46, Blair Cherry 1947.

utexass vs zerou?

what is the record of the favorite team winning? Just seems you can throw the teams record out in this game

and yes we may have a new Big 12-2 champion that is not ut or stapleclipu and the the childrenofthecorn are not looking that good either

haven't crunched numbers but the lower ranked team has a tendency to win in recent years, i'd say betting the favorite is probably little better than 50-50.

ur cowpokes have a shot as well as anyone else. if OU loses a league game it's wide open. OU can still win out and control their fate, UT can to a lessor extent, the Big 12 title game should be our goal.

u cowpokes get Zerou at home. last game. there's ur shot to make a statement.

i'll say that i don't think any major will go undefeated, not Bama or anyone else. It's going to be a messy year methinks with a lot of controversy over the pairings for the BCS games.

Hmm boltfan i'm on the fence for a couple of yer bold preditions! i'll vote later this week on the biggies.

These i agree on at a glance

No. 2 Ohio State at Illinois, Noon - Ohio St.
Pryor eventually needs to pull a VY. one bad game and buckys lose.

No. 3 Boise State at New Mexico State, 8 p.m. - Boise St.
Boise needs to be noisy. Talent alone even on the road wins for B St. Just keep winnin' Smurfies.

No. 5 TCU at Colorado State, 2 p.m. - TCU
Another "needs to win" by a top non Big 6 er. U go Froggies this year TCU is the best team in Texas TWK has been all over da Froggies in WKCFR!

No. 10 Auburn vs. Louisiana-Monroe, Noon - Auburn
Aubie needs to keep the big Mo and out-talent this team.

No. 11 Wisconsin at No. 24 Michigan State, 3:30 p.m. - Michigan State
Could go with coach's return, i think Badgers are good but so is Sparty so Sparty at home it is.

No. 12 LSU vs. Tennessee, 3:30 p.m. - LSU
Be careful Mikey. I think the other UT will be happy with Dooley Jr. did i mention the QB is named Simms?

No. 16 Miami at Clemson, Noon - Miami
Canes need this one for the ACC don't trip over Dabo now UM

No. 18 Southern Cal vs. Washington, 8 p.m. - USC
Lane kiffy era finally started! keep winnin' Dude!

No. 19 Michigan at Indiana, 3:30 p.m. - Michigan
if RR has his QB then bright things ahead UM faithful yer wait is nearly over. Don't F up and lose now RR.

No. 23 North Carolina State vs. Virginia Tech, 3:30 p.m. - VT
VT has rebounded from early losses before, this team should win 8 on talent alone. Beamer teams tend to get better.

No. 25 Nevada at UNLV, 10 p.m. - Nevada
NV is a new hot rush team LOL well well runnin' the ball is the new "IT" offense. what else is new?

yea, I do not understand why Gundy did not play Weeden more last year when Robinson was playing injured. Weeden did admit that he did not practice well but what an arm. Remember he made it to AAA in the Yankees farm system as a pitcher and he is 26yo soon to be 27

yea, zerou at home, I think I am going invite my dentist who played for Bud Wilkenson

Bolt, when we were bad every year we use to schedule SDSU just so our players would treat it as a Bowl game

Talk to you all Friday, I will be at the game tomorrow and drunk with a victory or drunk with a lost

A&M always finds new and creative ways to beat themselves. But it is the best defense they've had since RC Slocum left.

Trey Burton is not Tebow. If he is not injured early in the game, Gators may have a chance to keep it close. BAMA 34, Gators 16.

not that it matters now but the score was A&M 35 Oklahoma St. 38
had a cut/paste malfunction lol actually the scoreboard hadn't refreshed the final score yet.

No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 7 Florida, 8 p.m. - Alabama
this could be close a game, Burton isn't Tebow but if Brantley struggles he's all Gators got. Florida can win this game but i'm going w Nicky Satan at home.

No. 4 Oregon vs. No. 9 Stanford, 8 p.m. - Oregon
Ducks! best rushing team in the nation at home. prove it. Beat Jimmy H.

No. 17 Iowa vs. No. 22 Penn State, 8 p.m. Penn State
JoePa! goes into Capt. Kirk's house and gets a W.

Wow I thought the aggies would get blown out by the way the 3rd quarter looked. Switched over and caught the final score on ESPN. All things considered a 3 point loss there isn't too bad. Big 12 South Champ may have 2 losses this year.

With the exception of the Faulk years SDSU just can't get it together. I enjoyed the victories or UCLA and USC during that time. So fun being right that Faulk would be a better pro that that idiot who won the Heisman from Georgia (Garrison Heart I think?).

I will be the only one in the stands with my Faulk jersey and SDSU hat so don't throw beer on me!

One of the most down up down up emotional games I have ever been too.

The black uniforms we wore last year against CU on a Thursday night and we were down 2 touchdowns at half time. When J Johnson is hot he is hot but when he is not he is bad ie 4/5? interceptions and a fumble.

Looks I am going to have to do the unthinkable and root for the goonerds to beat ut

slang for sooners at the time I was thinking since ut already had one conferance win then today I realized a ut loss #21 might get us into the top 25 and with Penn State #22? surely we will
