Default Money and availability is not an issue....

If money and availability were not an issue, what car would you drive? I’m talking any car ever manufactured. Don’t worry about the availability of parts either.

Okay, go ahead and name 2 or 3 if you want but tell us why.

Here are my 3 -

1973 Dodge Charger - The 1st time I felt up a girl was in this car

1979 Chrysler Cordoba - What I drove in college

1974 Chevrolet Corvette - My best friend's father had this. We would sneak it out...

In case you can't guess, I have some serious sentimental reasons for wanting these cars. Honestly, I would rather have any one of these 3 over a Porsche, Jaguar, Bentley, etc...

I asked this to the regulars at my favorite bar once. One guy told us he’s driving the only car he wants, a Chevy Suburban. Talk about boring…..

Ok, I'm bored enough and can't sleep, so here goes:

1) A Humvee. Not one manufactured for the street, but a standard military issue (maybe with the 50 caliber swivel on top). Why? I want to be able to go anywhere I please.

2) The Lotus Elise. It doesn't matter what year, although the 2006 Burnt Orange is attractive. I'll even take the 4 cylinder Toyota engine. It's just the sexiest damn car I know of.

3) That black 1986 Toyota pickup from Back to the Future. I was convinced that it was the baddest ass thing I would ever be able to afford.

Shortly after returning to the States from 'Nam, I bought a Shelby Mustang GT 350. For practical reasons I sold it a few years later when my wife got pregnant with our oldest child. We bought a Gran Torino. BORING!!!!

Damn, the Shelby Mustang was an awesome machine. I would love to have it back!

1966 yellow Corvette - loved it when I first saw it, then years later heard a song I think it is called "Old Chevy-66 corvette" makes me cry every time.

Esp for the vietnam vets.

This is the exact car I drove in college. It was white and drive out price TTL was $7,000 !!! To this day I don't think any of the Corvette's body styling is better than those of the mid 70's. Those were truly the good ol' days. I had it for 3 years and sold it for $6000 to use as a down payment for my first brand new home that I paid $48,500 for.......and no the house didn't have wheels on it.

How about if reality is not a requirement, either?

Batmobile. Either one the fictional ones or one of the various models people have made.

There's also some attraction to the monster car crusher trucks. Cut me off in traffic now, bozo. Or put up curbs in parking lots that try to prevent me from driving directly to the exit.

My favorite car would have some sort of gadget underneath that would rip up speed bumps.

If we want to restrict things to "real" fantasy cars, probably some sort of 1960's classic convertible land barge. Maybe the stereotypical ragtop pink Cadillac. (Despite the fact I'd never want to really own one if cost, reliability, etc. are a concern.)

There's also still a cool factor about a DeLorean, if practicality is not a concern.

Maybe if Jay Leno leaves me all his money, I'll get a fantasy car collection myself. Including customizing a Hello Kitty Testarossa.

1967 Corvette with a 427.

Second place, quoteing from a Ray Wylie Hubbard song:
A '68 Camaro, candy-apple red
4 speed transmission, chrome heads
Rev her up and she casts a spell
Some things under Heaven are just cooler than Hell.

Just about any of the old muscle cars float my boat.
(Check out this vid for the song guy did a good job on it

2. 2010 Mercedes SLR 722 McLaren (Fastest production Mercedes ever built)
3. 2011 Mercedes S65 AMG (Nothing better than having you and 3 passengers sitting in pure luxury while getting a massage all the way to 200 Mph)

#3 is attainable
#2 is a goal
