Sea Food In Corpus

So while I am here and I love sea food, where are some of the great spots for sea food? What dish at the place would you suggest?

There's this really good place called Pier 99. It's not fancy so you don't have to dress up or anything. It's right on the beach, you can sit inside or out back over the water.
& if you like mexican food you should go to La Playa, they have this amazing fried avocado.

Yea, you're welcome...I can't remember the street but it's across that bridge on the other side of town. Just Google La Playa. Soooo good and they have Beeritas...idk if you drink or not, but they are great. Someone else was telling me about a place called The Black Diamond...but I never went. It's one of the oldests seafood joints there, so I'm sure it's not bad.

Water Street is the best in Corpus IMO. Pier 99 and Blackbeards are more of a tourist trap.

It's been quite some time since I've been there... but (I kid you not) their 'drive-thru' intercom system was



a round PVC plastic pipe where you talked into the pipe, (actually talked really loudly) and they'd answer back...then, after you placed your order, you drove around the building, and had to get out of your vehicle, walk over to the window to pay/pick-up your order. It was the shit!!

So yeah, if you're feeling adventurous, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot.

Oh no, Roxanne...that's too much like work.

If you want fresh, just head to the Super WalMart and head to the Pet area....all the fresh fish you could possibly imagine.

They even have nets right there next to the tanks for you to use.

Yup! Just grab the net, dip it into the tank, and catch the one you want....pop it into your mouth like popcorn.

..Sometimes I'll stay there and graze all day long, they're so good. Of course, you can stick some in those clear, plastic, "To Go" bags also...you know, to snack on later..

Boat and Net is for when you just want fast fried shrimp, fish and oysters.

It is a quick fix for the price. I know it's been in business at least since 1968, I remember going with my grandfather from TN and watching him eat tails and all.

Figured he paid for them, might as well eat them.

The place kinda over by Snoopy's (other side of the sand flat) was good, but again mostly fried food, same with Black Diamond.

I really don't know of a place other than the 'big box' restaurant that has grilled, baked or broiled seafood.

Would like to find one also.
