Democrat Wants Government Control of Manufacturing
Yes, you guessed it. Tom Harkin is working to "modernize" the US into a Sovier style economy. Yeah. It worked so well before.
From the article:
Five-year plans in the Land of the Free? Apparently it’s not that far off from reality.
Yesterday Senator Tom Harkin introduced S. 544, “a bill to require the President to develop a comprehensive national manufacturing strategy.”
In effect, Senator Harkin wants the President to centrally plan the economy. Never mind that the President has zero experience in business or manufacturing. But hey, this worked out so well for Stalinist Russia, it’s no wonder Mr. Harkin wants to copy that model.
Not to be outdone by Mr. Harkin’s long-sighted vision, President Obama is drawing up plans to turn over Americans’ financial data to the nation’s spy agencies. So now, on top of everyone else, law-abiding citizens in the Land of the Free can count on the CIA and NSA combing through their bank statements.
Of course, it’s all for your protection against men in caves who wish to do you harm.
Of course!

a plan to increase manufacturing and "government control" aren't one in the same. but that's what you and your, er, "source" want people to believe.
You're full of shit and a lying sack of shit.
BTW -- your "source" doesn't link to the bill either.
LMAO @ lying sack of shit!

Oh wait. A post by the silly old man. Linking us to an article that he has found. Presented with a prefatory comment that completely misrepresents the content of the article! What a surprise.

Seems like text is not yet available on the bill (or at least I can not yet find it on search) so I will defer comment on that. However, the spy agency access to financial data is dead on and unfortunately, appears to be perfectly legal under current deranged law.

What part of “a bill to require the President to develop a comprehensive national manufacturing strategy,” do you not understand? It's central planning of the economy.
This will likely fail, this time. but it will be back. Don't say you weren't warned.

Until I read the actual text of the bill I will not ASS/U/ME the worst. I will wait until I have the actual facts at hand and can then render an intelligent decision instead of jumping to a conclusion based on a pre-conceived notion based on someone else's interpretation of an event.

Again, Whiny is tilting at windmills. he can't produce evidence. Can't produce a single word of the bill but is ready to evacuate all over the board in opposition to IT, whatever IT says.
again, he's a young sack of shIT!

Yeah, but that all the Unaliar has to work with. At least he isn't quoting something that hasn't been released yet!

Bill titles mean absolutely nothing. They are meant to attract the widest possible political support and often have absolutely nothing to do with the actual contents of the bill.

In this case, it seems to have succeeded.
Bu OP took it one step further, and even lied about the title of the bill in the headline of his post. Reprehensible but typical of the Unaliar!
Whiny painted himself into another corner. He could win the title of Miss Representation 2013!

I just don't get it. Whether that article is acurate or not, really remains to be seen. I don't think he made any of this up. So how is COG lying? He's just posting the article. I think you're afraid of what the possibilities might be. Your attitude really stinks. I think when it comes down to it, you're just a standard issued wimp.
