We should be relieved that Trump did not collude with the Russians, if that is actually true. That does not mean the Russians did not work hard to confuse Americans about candidates and positions and issues. I happen to agree with our national security experts that they did. I don't concur with our president who agrees with his Russian counterpart that the Russians were not involved in attempts to manipulate public opinion or public information.

A- I do not believe Trump actively colluded with Russians to alter the 2016 election. There is no evidence.

The Russians(and the Soviets before them) have attempted to influence our national elections since 1922.

The Russians have typically backed, effectively, leftwing fascist racebaiting bigoted thugs. In an almost miniscule(and essentially statistically insignificant) effort, they provided some dirt on Clinton this time around. However, this was just a hedge.

Their bigger effort was to provide a dossier on Trump, which was inserted into our election process by the leftwing fascist racebaiting bigoted thugs(Democrats). It would have been far more damaging if it wasn't completely ridiculous, and demonstrably fake, but those are the Democrats for you. So, the Russians did do some minor facebook advertising during the election, and may have(note this has not been proven) provided grand illustration of just how perverse and corrupt the Democrats are by releasing their emails.

Unless you come to the conclusion that the voters should not have been shown how the democrats are lying , perverse, corrupt thugs, the voter effect was miniscule. I'd note that it is the media's job to put a light on such behavior concerning the Democrats, but they failed to do so. It took hackers to illustrate it, and it was easily done.
