the biggest issue is I dont think they have AMC

I have google fiber tv and internet which is lightening fast. I like the way the tv guide is set up, more channels than any other cable provider including VICE which I think is the best station going. The remotes are blu tooth so don't have to point at tv. They give you an 8" tablet for free that you can use as a super remote (or whatever else you choose I guess). I get HBO & Showtime packaged for $20.00. All told, I think I pay about $150/mo. 24/7 service. It has only gone out once for about an hour (I've had it about 1.5 years). They are super friendly on phone and have always addressed any issue I may have. I wouldn't go back to any other cable for half the price.

My only issue is that up until a month ago you were able to load video/photo/music files from say your laptop to their TV storage box, and then just watch them seamlessly on any tv in the house. Now they got rid of that function, which seems like a step backwards. Also if you watch PPV's, there is currently no set up for that function, nor for things like NHL Centre Ice or NBA Pass etc....Other than that, the DVR function is much superior. It's a whole house DVR and holds @ 500 hrs.

I might try it, as I understand there is no contract with it? I go month to month, right?

the other issue is I love my tivo dvr, anyone have tivo ? how does the google dvr compare to the tivo bolt?

Google TV does not offer AMC. No AMC means no Walking Dead. For me, that means no Google TV.

what do you watch on AMC besides walking dead?
I can watch Dead on netflix.. my concern is the DVR

I'm gonna head to google fiber space and see what the dvr is like
Id much rather use their dvr, as the tivo dvr costs like $150/yr and $400 for a 1TB unit and I have 3 tivos that are dead, but have lifetime service memberships

If you follow the corporate bread crumbs, Time-Warner has a piece of AMC. Thus, Google can go pound sand - they 'aint letting Google have it.

If you can get past that and live a year out to watch Walking Dead and Better Call Saul on Netflix, it's really nice.

Integrated menus- select Netflix on your DVR menu and it loads in a few seconds- no lag whatsoever watching the actual show. Fast as hell.

Cool

Nothing to do with Google Fiber but I bitched about Comcast for 8 years. Then I moved! Now I got Time Warner! I want my Concast back but not available where I moved to. Reasons I can list . . . but won't. Biggest change came from trashing my NETGEAR router to a Linksys, WOW! what a difference!

Lesson learned, you just might have it better than you think you do.
