LMAO!!!
Actually, the lame-stream media wants you to believe the "Fake News" that they were Republicans.

MSNBC host Kasie Hunt falsely claims Joe Biden's segregationist colleagues were Republicans
I don't think it's any secret those guys were Democrats.. Southern Democrats ruled Congress in the 60's and 70's, Texas alone had a dozen or more House Democrats on the conservative side.. Jake Pickle, George Mahon.. naturally a few of the Dems would be hard-core segregationists.
but the past 35 years has seen a huge shift in Democratic voting patterns and attitudes. same with Republicans, both parties are far more "left" and "right", respectively.. there are no Senator Ed Brooke's and Jacob Javitz's in the Republican field.
which is sort of the larger point. Biden harkens back to an era that hasn't existed for several decades.. that is his reference point. he is hopelessly outdated. even Obama gets that.

Anyone who thinks Jake Pickle was a kind and civil person and got along with people didn't know that asshole.

Bullshit. Most people today can't name their state's Senators much less those from 50 years ago. More revisionist history from the Democratic Socialists.

New York Times reporter Astead Herndon speaks on CNN – 6/20/19. Screen grab via CNN.
For the second time in two days on national TV, a political journalist incorrectly labeled as “Republicans” the two segregationist Senators Joe Biden praised earlier this week.
In the first instance, it was MSNBC‘s Kasie Hunt during a Wednesday report she did on the controversy:
MSNBC's Kasie Hunt: “Joe Biden references his relationships with two former Republican colleagues at an event in NYC. The only problem? They were both segregationists”
The Senators were identified as James Eastland & Herman Talmadge
Hunt did not make a correction on the air that day, but posted a tweet later that evening noting the error. She also said she’d correct it the next day on-air, which she did:
A day after falsely labeling two segregationist senators as Republican, MSNBC's Kasie Hunt issues a correction:
"Yesterday, we inaccurately said on the show that Senators James Eastland and Herman Talmadge were Republicans. They were both Democrats. We regret the error." pic.twitter.com/CNngTMmSRy
The very next day, during a “CNN Newsroom” segment, New York Times political reporter Astead Herndon made the same error (bolded emphasis added):
“Our reporting yesterday was that some of his advisers, and even some of his supporters, were a little shocked with the way he was characterizing his relationships with those senators. And they’ve said, if you want to talk about bipartisanship, why not mention other Republicans — not the kind of the most controversial of them. And we know that the other Democrats are going to try to seize on this to create differences and stand out.”
Watch the segment below:
This is just ridiculous. It does not even take five minutes to Google Sens. James Eastland (MS) & Herman Talmadge (GA) to find out they were both Democrats.
When these things keep happening it’s hard to buy the excuse that it’s just a “mistake.” It’s almost like they want you to be misinformed.
In Hunt’s case, at least, an effort was made to correct the record.
In Herndon’s case, however, CNN did not correct him on-air. And as of this writing, there is not a correction noted on either Herndon’s Twitter feed nor “CNN Newsroom”‘s Twitter feed.

sulzberger has no business complaing about his NYT.
you call the media fakers, but in truth, it's easy to mistake that those 2 Codgers Biden referenced were Republicans. so much has changed since those guys were Members of Congress, you know that.. I told you earlier in this thread. in fact, things changed fast.. Trent Lott, Jesse Helms.. the move from the 70's to the 90's was the Generational move that switched Racist Lawmakers to the Republican side of the aisle.
why not admit that? you guys go back 150 years, and champion Abe Lincoln as your Republican Civil Rights Model, LOL
